I am running an older Mugen MRX4R. It was Jeremy Cupps old car when he was sponsored by Mugen. It has a pretty decent setup on it but I am still tweaking it to my driving style.

What classes are they running in the SWCS these days? I won't race a GT car, but if I ever get back to north Texas with a real job....

The SWCS is currently running 200mm touring car and 8th scale Lola-body car as its two staples. They revived the 8th scale GT class which is being sponsored but with the SWCS committee, it is classified as an exhibition class this year. GT may be moved to a participating trophy class next year along side 200mm and 8th scale if participation remains steady and/or grows.

It is not an exhibition class this year as the entry fee is same across the board. IGT Hobbies along with SWCS will have trophies at the Biggie as well as at the end of the year for the points winners. C-ya at the races! So come out and support the SWCS of Texas!

It is great that Bill is buying the trophies for the class and every participant in the class appreciates it. But, according to the bylaws, it is what the SWCS says it is. But, enough of this dilly-dally about the behind-the-scenes stuff, see you at the Texas Biggie.

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but, just so everyone is clear, as the class sponsor, I can assure you that the IGT Hobbies 1/8 Open GT class in the SWCS 2011 is indeed a points class.

Point standings can be found here...... http://thirdcoastracing.com/Point_Standings.html

The bylaws that are posted at Third Coast Racing have not been updated.

Everyone should be paying $25 which is the entry fee for a points class.

Trophies for the series and for The Texas Biggie will be handed out per the bylaws.

Lets Race!

Default gt class not exhibition class at swcs

don't know what the problem is, but as far as i am concerned the gt class is a real class as all of the others. don't know why somebody would even state that the gt class is just an exhibition class, unless they have a problem with IGT HOBBIES stepping up and promoting this awsome class. IGT HOBBIES is doing a great job on promoting this class for the swcs race and our local raceway. besides from what i heard, we had a better car count than the world championship in mexico for the open class.

Getting the thread back on point, congrats to Mike Lyday on his strong showing at the Ipanema Sports GT World Championships that was held in Mexico City this past weekend. Through him, we found out our GT brothers south of the border racing in the rain as well as when the conditions are optimal. Like F1 racing, they even busted out the rain tires!!! I know that had to be a sight seeing the cars flying around the track with water rooster tails behind them. This is not counting the hail that fell during the race from what I have heard. Can't wait to see the pics and/or videos of this.
