I see what you mean, not very appealing to me neither.
It says OFNA on the body, so propably DM-1 spec, no?

Jeff,
Yes, Paul is a great driver and hell of a nice guy too ...
I've been a Paul Coleman fan since i started on RC Cars (even during my airplane days i used to real about Paul's racing, and the path he always left when he works for a company), and was very nice to know him in person last year in USA :
Brian, about the bodies, you can get them in Europe, but i dont know where exactly (they are quite popular as they are almost the only kind of bodies they use over there) ...

Paul was driving a DM1 spec with a Mclaren body made by Fioroni. You can
find them at www.fioroni-usa.com. I will be running this body in the open class
at the world gt race.

That body Paul has is not a legal body for the GT worlds. Right?

Since the DM ONE is actually a 1/7th scale car, i would asume that bodies from the Spanish manufacturer BYCMO RC MODELS, who manufactures 1/7th scale Rally Game cars, and now a GT version would fit, and also fit Kyosho GT2 cars...here is the link
http://www.bycmo.com/agt_engine.php?...&id=26&lang=en
Send them a mail to check on dimensions of their car, because on the web page there is no tech sheet.

Why not, the rule for the Championship states
"2. Body: Any commercially available “GT” race car style/type body; must look like a car that could actually be driven on the street with a passenger in real life or 1:1"
Class is supposed to be a recreation of actual real life FIA GT Championship, so any GT type car body is legal to my understanding. In Europe they are racing legaly with these type of bodies.

When that class originally started they run in dirt tracks, then, as in todays WRC, they started to race in Asphalt, and stayed there, so the class has evolved in Europe too, it is now legally called GT Class, because of it racing only in asphalt tracks, that is why they have some belt driven chasis, and have included the 1:1 FIA GT Class bodies.
The FIA defines a GT car as "an open or closed automobile which has no more than one door on each side and a minimum of two seats situated one on each side of the longitudinal centre line of the car; these two seats must be crossed by the same transversal plane. This car must be able to be used perfectly legally on the open road, and adapted for racing on circuits or closed courses."
FIA currently defines three categories of GT cars: GT1, or Grand Touring Cars, and GT2, or Series Grand Touring Cars. Both categories are based on production road car designs, which must be produced in a minimum quantity of 25 examples to qualify. Both types may undergo significant modifications from the road car they are based on, but GT1 allows the use of exotic materials, better aerodynamics, larger brakes, wider tires and larger engine admission restrictors.
Since the 2006 season, the FIA created a new class called GT3. GT3 cars are closer to their production counterparts and are very simply racetrack prepared with the essentials (rollcages for safety, stripped interiors, race spec fuel tanks, etc.).
So when you look at the actual offering of RC scale bodies in Europe, you will find from typical Rally sedan cars to pure GT racers like McLaren, Maserati, Saleen, Ford GT, Jaguar R, etc, etc....
BTW, did you check on BYCMO for a body for your DM ONE???
