Default GPM Alloy parts for Thundertiger TS4N

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum so today is my first entry.

I have a question that I am really hoping someone could answer.

I have a Thundertiger TS4N and I would like to upgrade the rear bulkhead/Gearbox with the GPM alloy version....... Problem is I can not locate anyone in the UK who can supply me one!!
The only joy I have had is Hurricane Models but they have since told me that the importer will not ship to them as the demand is so few and far between :-(

Does anyone know where I could obtain GPM parts for the Thundertiger TS4N in the UK (or from oversea's....... as long as the supplier is reliable)??

Somebody please tell me that they have an answer!!

Cheers All

Darren

Only newbie get GPM products. once you use it, you will never want to get GPM again.

Thanks for your replies....

Why do you suggest not using GPM parts?? Is it just GPM are do mean do not use alloy parts in general?? I know that Thundertiger produce alloy parts as well but they are more than double the price of those I was quoted for the GPM........... But then saying that if no one can get the GPM parts I guess it does not matter how much they quote. It might as well be 0.01P, if they can't get the part it realy does not matter ;-/ ?

Curently i have a problem with the stoc plastic rear bulkhead, the bearing on the rear shaft heats up so much it melts the rear bulkhead in the recess where the bearing sits. This in turn means that the bearing recess hole melts a little bit and ovals out of shape and then the shaft wabbles around and the main spur gear moves out of line catching the chassis.......

I figured that changing this part to alloy would stop the problem as the heat build up would not melt an alloy bulkhead??

Any other suggestions anyone........

Thanks from one fed up Thundertiger TS4N driver

The main reason is GPM has poor quality control. The tolerance isn't so great and each part is slightly different from the other while they are supposed to be exactly the same.

So the worse that can happen is the mounting holes don't line up with the chassis, the bearings don't fit in or too much play, etc. Get the Thunder Tiger aluminum.

Like they say, you get what you pay for.

Thanks for your reposonse Dan. I am glad you warned me of the problems with the GPM parts. I would have been realy Hacked off if I'd waited moths for the parts and then when I finnaly got them the quality was poor..........

I'll get the Thundertiger parts + I'd probably get them quicker anyhow :-)

Thanks everyone

Regards

Darren

You can try and go to the wanted forum and post an add. Given that you are tagging onto a very old thread, starting your own may be your best bet.

Best of luck.
