Will there be pre-registration for the MWS races?

Mike- I haven't even started putting the NT1 back together. With Leisure racing on Sundays, I don't feel the need to go to Toledo. $$$(gas) You sure MWS is running a Masters in T/C? I know in the past it was just 1/8th scale. I'm thinking of going down Fri. after work. I'll talk to ya soon.

The 2008 season is coming up fast, just a little over 3 weeks.
Ron, do think it would be possible to update the MWS site? With such things as classes, any rules for the new class, sponsors for this year (I think the sponsors on the site are last years). Is there going to be pre-registration?
Thanks

I am going to be placing an order for Byrons fuel shortly. I'm going to get 25 and 30 %. If you would like some please email me with % and quantity. You don'd have to buy all at once. Just an idea of what you will need for the season.

Mark, I will be contacting Brian with the updates within a day or two. Hopefully he can get the pre-reg. open right away.

Nick, YES there will be a Masters for 1/10. I announced that early on but it has not come up laetely. It will be on the MWS site asap. It will run with 1/10 tc same as 1/8 Masters. Same age requirement (45). This will not have any effect on the individual event schedules.

Rules for the new class-1/8 GT;

They will be on the site, but here goes..
Any 1/8 buggy-based chassis.
Inferno GT, OFNA GTP, PRP Katana (now discontinued).
Any Buggy converted in similar fashion as the affore mentioned production cars.
.28 or smaller sport buggy/truck engine. ie; Axial .28, Force .28, Dynamite Mach 26, Kyosho .28, Infinity .26 (prp).
Rubber tire.
Sports Car or Touring car body.
If you intend to run an engine NOT listed above, you must get it approved by me before running. The obvious thrust, is to keep cost down. If you have access to an engine that is apropriate for this application and is of similar cost to these engines, let me know.
These rules will be reviewed at the end of season, knowing that adjustments are likely to be needed to protect the spirit of the class.
Do NOT attempt to run a $600 modfied on-road engine! I don't think it would be a good match anyway, but could provide a lot more top speed. Doing this could kill the class and be a major pain in the a$$ for me.
Spec tires could be in the future for this class, but we must have first hand experience with the tires/inserts in question or it could back-fire on us. This class has a lot of potential!

20 DAYS until the first race.
As an example RON would a 3 year old novarossi P5 .21 buggy engine be legal in gt buggy class?

Hey wizby, I would think that the p5 would still be ileagal for the glass. Just because it is 3 years old doesn't mean that its no longer a modified motor and at the time when it was new it was a high dollar motor. I have talked to a lot of newbies in the recent weeks who are interested in this class and they have bought cars hoping that they will be able to race on a similar level with others, and I just don't think we should start out with all these complex issues. Keep your motors to 150.00 dollar motors, and the class should remain fun for all who want to participate.

Rodney there are no mods done to my p5. Its stock! My thinking is its a buggy engine and its a .21. So I am thinking the sport .28's have the advantage. If you ever see the axial .28 run you wont think iam cheating.

Default gtp cars

Are the newer ofna cars going to be allowed to be ran in the MWS?

http://www.ofna.com/hyper17.php

and

http://www.ofna.com/dm1-rtr.php

These are being ran at some local clubs and seem to be the evolution of the class.

Let me know, becouse I have a group of friends running them already and if they are legal I might get the dtm, so I can race with them and the mws.

Thanks

I could be wrong but I believe those cars are allowed. I know the DM1 has been talk talked about being included. The cincinnati track includes them in the class.
