NO , the belt is made from a softer material and thats why it has lost its teeth. The ball cup is solid with no marks.
I use the low friction belts too.
Do you all use the top hole on the servo arm ?
I find it strange that mine rubs and others dont.
I have to run the car with unequal turnbuckle lengths to avoid the new steering from riding under the belt.i then adjust the trim to compensate.

I think it is just a case of `the grass is allways greener` whenever a problem occurs !! thats all.

Default Shocks

Are there any externally adjustable shocks made for 1/10 cars? Like you can change the dampening rate with an external adjuster instead of changing the wt of the oil?

Also the stock shocks on this car suck. Which shocks can i upgrade to?

Thanks,
Mike

The shocks on the G4 are no worst then what's on the Mugen which I have or any other 1/10 scale car on the market for that matter... The only issue with the shocks are the bladders.... A simple $2.50 upgrade can fix that. I'm sure if we went to every other nitro companies threads here, I'm sure you'll find pros and cons with those cars as well.. I know for a fact that Serpent, OFNA, HPI, Team Assoc, Mugen, Kyosho and Yokomo have issue's with there cars... If not... You would have threads or posts of happy racers everywhere saying that there cars are all dialed.. Nothing breaks... No adjustments needed... No upgrades needed and everyone won there races in the A-main in every race... That's just not the case... There no perfect car out of the box.. Every car has to be beefed up and bullet proofed to some degree. TM addressed the issues with this car... While if may have taken longer then it should have, I'm happy that the two main issue's were corrected, that being the fuel tank and the steering system. The G4 is more durable then most and can race with be best of them any day of the week... More support would be great... Hint Nickko... but over all the G4 is a great car to drive and a good investment for the money... .02 Not flaming anyone's feelings or thoughts, but just addressing the facts...

daniz24: nice looking car!!! what springs are you using?? is that the 3racing diff case??? Mr. Shims and i just installed the Mugen Seiki springs on our G4... he used the white ones which had a spring rate of 1.9 and i'm using the grey ones with a spring rate of 1.8 for the fronts... wish us luck!!! cant wait to get the new steering system we ordered... i think its the only thing missing to dial up our car. as for the s710... well it is a good car but for the price i would still go for the G4... remember that the g4 lapped the s710 4 times in the copa portugal 2004 last july by TM driver hugo miguel. and he was using the old steering system then. guess its also how well your skills are at the track. happy racing all

Since I also have Yokomo EP, I just switched the shock but you need the SS shock body (longer) to fit in to your G4. The spring is Purple spring from TM spring set (502143)

The spring is TM Purple spring. And yes, that's the 3Racing diff case for Kyosho Evo. But I change the gear diff to Kyosho's gear diff too for perfect smoothness.

This is also TM Green spring on the Yokomo shocks :

S710 Shocks dampening are adjustible from the outside, but I am not sure if they are a easy swap to fit on a G4. Would be a good thing to look into though.

Can anyone tell me what effect changing the shims on the upper front wishbone does to the handling. Is this the roll centre adjust or castor ?

if anyones interested heres a link to a uk website, with some videos you can download:

http://www.3hobby.com/modules.php?na...download&cid=6

you need to register to download them, but its free.in the BRCA 1:10 rubber A-main, race a G4 took tq and the win! (national race series on rubber tyres)

theres also some other videos of foam races.

tooned: the plastic shims adjust the castor angle, which basically changes how much tyre is in contact when you apply steering lock.

to see this, take all the shims off, put the car on a flat board(with tyres on!) put the steering on full lock, look level with the front tyre, and move the top wishbone forwards and backwards. this should show how the castor works!

hope it helps.
