Default ofna truer motor

Anyone know where I can pick up an ofna tire truer motor? I believe my front bearing is toast. I have a little shaft wobble.

If your lhs can't or won't order one for you... Give Ofna a call...

Or check with Sam at Kamikaze Toys and Hobby. If he doesn't have it in stock, he can definitely get it. http://www.kamikazercracing.com/home.htm

You can PM him at:

Well I contacted Team Kamikazi waiting for a reply. In the mean time I called Ofna about a replacement motor and they told me that "They DO NOT offer a replacement motor for their truers". I found this kinda odd. I was wondering if the Hudy motor will fit the Ofna truer, If not I will try to repair the bearing.

You should be able to find an inexpensive 12V motor like that in a local tool shop or online somewhere.

Yes, I agree a tool or motor shop would have it. But Ofna does not list any specs on the side of the motor as far HP,RPM or current rating. If I install the wrong type of motor I may run into other failures such fuse blowing and or circuit board problems

You may not get a reply from Kamikaze until next week as they are currently in Vegas for 8th scale nationals.

There was an rctech thread earlier in the year where someone had installed a Hudy motor in an Integy or Ofna tire truer. They stated it took a little bit of massaging but worked perfectly. Maybe that thread has additional info you could use.

That mod was done to an Integy truer. I found that the Hanger 9 prop starter for planes has the same motor as the ofna truer except for the end caps unfortinately this the part I need.

To be honest with you I would just look for a used Hudy one that is what I did after getting all wrapped up into 2 Ofna truers. trying to mod and all that extra jazz took me into the expense just as close as being near a used HUDY truer.

Since picking up my used Hudy truer I have never been happier and the Ofna truers are sitting in the basement. But I can help you out if you need the motor I will give you one of the 2 that I have since I have no use for them and you can operate and remove the motor but all you have to do is pay the shipping for the truer. If that is good for you let me know.....

I don't know about prices in the u.s, but here to get a good replacement motor it can run around 30$.

Nitro house has the whole truer on sale at 49.95$.

I dont think that is the truer he is talking about. I think he means the automatic one. that single motor one is rare to burn out or have problems. the whole truer could probably ship to him for like $10 that would save him a bunch. I have no use for them and since i have 2 that have the arbor motors burned he can have the main motor on it for shipping. I hate to throw it out which is my next step...
