Default How do you install new engine?

How do you install a new engine? I just got my STS RS3 as you have all heard about I think since I have been posting things about it recently. I know like how to unscrew everything and take off all the throttle stuff, but do you do the clutch stuff and flywheel. I also don't know if I have to get a new clutch either. My car right now is a Hotbodies Tornado you guys can check that out on Tower Hobbies under RTR cars. Any help would be great.

ok, heres how you do the clutch its an SG shaft engine. standard might be the same

take a set of channel lock pliers and hold the flywheel with them. then take a deep socket and a ratchet to the clutch nut

i have no idea what size the socket is, so your on your own there

dont bother with a flywheel locking tool. its a waste. it you absolutely have to buy an rc brand tool for locking the engine, get dynamites locker that locks the piston in place. thats much more valuable

Never had a problem with a flywheel pin holder in years of using it. What happened with yours?

Piston locks aren't suited well for putting on flywheels as the stress it puts on the conrod bushing gives me the heebie-jeebies. But you can never go wrong with channel lock pliers.
