Just curious if the 8th scale foam tires out there will fit a kyosho GT-R?
the GT-R has 17mm hexes.

Default Kyosho IGT

Ofna makes foam tires that are supposed to fit.

Kyosho also makes some hi-performance slicks too.

Option Parts - Inferno GT

High - Performance tire for your INFERNO GT!

V-slick Tires are available in three different compounds, and are made from race-proven rubber that ensures long life (up to three times longer than stock) and better performance. The V-Slick Tires are packaged in pairs, include foam inserts and are designed to mount directly to any Inferno GT wheel. Wheels are available separately (shown for display purpose only). Three different shore ratings ensure these tires are ready for anything ranging from street or parking lot surfaces up to the high-traction of a prepared racetrack.

V - Slick Tire
IGT002-45 (45-shore rating) Soft compound
IGT002-55 (55-shore rating) Medium compound
IGT002-60 (60-shore rating) Hard compound

We are running the rubber GRP tires now.
I have been curious to try a set of foams and see how they do.

Default Ofna 1:8 Foams

These will fit the Kyosho since they are 17mm buggy rims with foams glued to them. I would suggest the GRP rally tires only because you will get 10 times the runtime vs the foams which may last a 1/2 hour.

Default IGT

I’ve heard that some of the people running the IGT cars are using 80, 90 & 100 wt. Shock oils with the stock springs and it works well for them.

These are not foam, but worth checking out. They last forever, 4 compounds to choose from, honeycomb molded insert into the tire so no foam inserts to mess with.

Those are cool.

“Kyosho Inferno GT Spec” class should use Kyosho’s optional tires. This class needs to be a level playing field where pure talent and a little luck get you on the podium.

I like them a lot for a “GT Open” class cars. Nice

The GRP's are belted in the rubber. They should hold up very good and are easily available in the US. I am unsure of the construction of the Kyosho rubber. I am not flaming Kyo, I want one of these little buggers, I just assembled a set of those GRP rally tires to help break in a buggy, and I run GRP's on my 1:5 and as they get hot, they stick. Rally is more popular in europe so I expect they offer more rubber choice there.

They do look great, at the price of the Kyosho Inferno GT RTR, I may get 2 of them. One car for the "Stock Spec" class and the other one, I'll go "hog wild" on it.

I have a "Picco/Collari .21" just waiting to scream in that chassis. If not, there is always a Werks Team Line .28.

I can't wait to get the "GT" classes going, it's going to be a lot of fun!

If I am not mistaken, the Kyosho rally cars are based on the 7.5 buggy platform. Fioroni produced option parts for the 7.5, and now for the 777. Many of the Fioroni option parts for the 7.5 should fit, such as arm mounts, radio tray, steering plate, knuckles, etc. There is an inventory blowout on ebay on these parts, search for Fioroni 7.5 on ebay.

Those parts are great for the "GT Open" class.

I like their "Sliding Clutchs" too.
