Default jaco foams

anybody have any problems with the outside edge of the tires coming unglued, witch causes the tire to chunk on the outside. At first i thought it was just a one time thing but it happened every time i put a new set on and they all did the same thing. I was running the new jaco's 40 shore.Anyone else have this problem !

sounds more like a setup issue than the tire. When running full size or larger tires, you have more "side bite" from the tire, causing the tire to be rolled(flex) under. When you have this "flex" of the tire, it is chunking. If you go to a harder tire, or add a little more camber, your tires will last longer without the issue you described.

iv found when i run them they do tend to come unglued so what i do now is after i true to size i just put a bead of glue around and its fine.
and just like elc carpet racing the bead around helps with the tire not folding under.

even after a 5 min heat race i had a front tire come half way unglued on the outside edge.On that set-up i was running 2deg camber in frt and 3 deg in the rear. The front tires looked fine(i just looked at them cus i was worried about therear tires) and the rear tire were chunked on the outside. My son went out for the 2nd heat and his car was all over the place and that's when i checked the frt tires and seen they were unglued. They should'nt come unglued like that so i was wondering if their were more tires like this as it could be a manufacture defect ?

On my last race I had that problem with me rear tires. They chunked pretty good. I had only ran them for two practice runs. I replaced them with another new set but trued to size and the chunking went away. Maybe the new tires are being rushed out and not properly QA'd.

I'll see how my next race goes.

I had that problem also. I just reglued the sidewalls and burned them up in the next qual. I switched to ATS for the rest of the quals and main. No problems. Jaco's are normally pretty good.. Somebody goofed on that batch.

At my hometrack, Toledo, if you hit one of the metal "berms" you can chunk a tire that is on the large size (73mm to 74mm) but usually not a smaller tire (71mm to 72 mm). If nothing is hit I have never chunked a Jaco tire.

The only time I have had an issue with the unglueing issue is if I don't run enough camber, I think they edge load and that causes the tire to rip off on the outside. If there is tire material left on the rim they are not coming unglued they are tearing loose which is not at all the same.

I have never found that the brand of the tire has anything to do with chunking. You hit stuff, you are more likely to chunk a tire. Running larger size increases the risk.
As far as comming un-glued goes,, I have another brand that seems more likely to suffer that fate. Mostly the segments sepperating. My jaco tires seem to hold up very well.
