As the top deck and the fuel tank has not been changed, can I assume that it is a shorter wheel base chassis? Otherwise the battery has been moved forward.

My big question is, does that change the body post positions? It would be good to know as there are so many new bodies coming out!

The wheelbase hasn't changed.

As far as I can remember Mugen haven't changed the mounting position of the body since the MRX2, why would they do something silly like that now.

Hey Boz! Yes, they have not changed it since MRX2... Looking at the new battery holder, the top hole is screw into the mid shaft mount hole. That might suggest that the total wheelbase might be shorter?

I placed an entry for the waiting list of one of those conversion kits (one -R sits awaiting patiently the conversion). But... what it scares me is how much specialized and patterned is the new car on smooth and twisty tracks (not all the tracks are like a billiard pool and twisted like the mind of Desperate Housewives staff).

Will coexist an -R model and the -X model or the -X will succeed the -R and put us on the line for a 'MRX5' in 18-24 months? From what I've heard on a Kris Moore interview at the past Off-Road Euros... something new is on the backburner, but... for the Dirt guys.

I looked over the parts list and manual on Mugen site. Theere is one part piece that I cannot figure out - HO133F in Kit Bag A. I recently bought this part tree and it too had this piece. Where does it go? I could not find it on the conversion manual either.

Thanks,
Roger

I could be wrong, but seems that gap between the lower portion of the fuel tank and the battery plate, will be bigger. Been observing the screw positions and the battery holder seems to be moved slightly forward.

BTW: Maybe many will find them useless, but... when Mugen will drill two 0.5mm holes at the chassis and as locating pins just to put it over a table and ensure that car is perfectly symmetrical measuring each side?

the front lug has been move to the center of a reason. Save weight. Now it's a lighter car, one less screw

It's probably be done for the same reason as the motor mount. The mounting screws use to be off center in the MX3. In the MRX4 the motor screws have been centralized to give an even twist in the chassis.

The chassisplate is the most expensive part, I think it is wise to wait for the complete kit.
By the way, I think an average driver will not notice a lot of the changes
