simple and effective

i wonder if you can make an in-car rig for this using the 3rd channel, for the start of races.

Yes, I like the in car rig idea with 3rd channel, I shall investigate further as not happy TQ ing and then stalling on start line in Finals last Sunday

Default it works

ive been doing this for awhile just never thought of sharing it, what i use is the orion glow ignitor that takes a AA battery, it is light and small and the pit man can easily store it in his pocket. we also leave it on while he is holding the car waiting for the start, but we use a ifmar style start.

If shits happens to car #1, my pitman car throw in car #2 ( assuming you have identical cars ) .... and don't forget to transfer the transponder.

WELL:

If you do that here in PR and we got you, you can't participate in a race for a year.

The only things that you want your rx pack to power up are just your servos. That's it. I wouldn't even try to use my 3rd channel to power up the glow plug. Your glow plug uses a considerable amount of power just to lite it up. If you tap into your rx pack for the glow plug, your run time on the rx pack will diminish faster than you know it. Just use a re-chargable glow iginitor if you need to keep the motor running or off the start of a race. It's that simple.
