Default Changing pinion gears?

How does one go about taking pinion gears off and putting new ones on, is there a way to do it without a pinion gear tool.

no, dont try, you'll ruin your pinion and clutchbell. Go to the track and ask around nicely there is always someone there who will change them for you! just ask nicely

I have not been able to find a part number or link to the tool. Does anyone have that information? It's for a Mugen MTX-4R. Thanks.

Serpent & xray both make pinion and spur gear tools. Most Local hobby shops should have some stock of one item or another!

with a 1.5mm allen L wrench, wide pliers to hold the allen within the bell, and a plier or climping tool to release the pinion should be fine.

of course the mugen, kyosho or any other brand tool should be fine also.
beware it varies withing the brand, some brands do not work on others
