Default 1st gear one-way problems

Hi, I ran today my fw-05rr and suddenly the engine started reving very high so I stopped it. So my first gear as stripped although meshing was perfect, I ran this gear for the past 3 months with virtual no wear.

After replacing the stripped gear I noticed the car made the same high-reving sound as when the 1st gear one-way is damaged and you have to wait for it to rev down and make this "click" sound to start enganging again.

So the question: If the one-way is dead did it actually cause the gear-stripping? Is water capable of damaging the one-way? (I drove over some water )

Greets and thanx

PS. How do you clean your one-ways?

1st one way bearing need regular maintenance. You need to lubricate it with 1 way lube or bearing oil. Give the inside bearings with two or three drops of bearing lubricants after cleaning it first. You clean it by spraying it with motor cleaner ( ask hobby shop..... motor cleaner are often use in electric car to spray inside electric motor ). Cleaning interval maybe after a long race or one day practice.

Your current one way is already toast.

Simply buy a new one and start good maintenance with it.
