hmm, a faired in tail section downstream of the ins box makes sense (why didn't anybody do it sooner!)
but an engine's heat shrink is more air than solid. i wonder what the effect on the engine temps might be?

That is a good question, I ran one last weekend and didn't see any difference in engine performance. I did not check temps because I am a "look for smoke" type of tuner.

I can tell you that the body did work great. I could put the car anywhere on the track, steering was great and rear traction was good as well. I ran at Toledo where there are two sweepers that require good steering, ran wide open thru both of them eaisly.

FYI,

At this point the Frizzbee body will not be usable at this years Great Lakes Challenge.

For the body to be usable at the GLC it must be readily available to all racers.

In English or Canadian, that means the body must be available to retail stores now. Or there is a large stack of the Frizzbee bodies for sale at the GLC event.

THIS is not a new rule. The GLC has followed this process with bodies in the past.

Ted,

How many do you consider a "large stack" ?

I hope this body performs better than the shadow. The shadow pushes like a fat chick in a buffet line.

Lightbulb Shadow

gashuffer;
The understeer/front end push problem has been rectified on the PROTOform Shadow body. When something radically different is attempted (from an aero standpoint) one must expect a little tweeking to be a part of the process in the coarse of refining it's performance. It's no different in the world of full-size racecars. Sometimes we get lucky - sometimes we need to make corrections.

Lightbulb The PROTOform FRIZBEE #1491

Testing feedback (from some very good racers) on pre-production bodies has been very favourable.
