It may be hard to believe, but it is true. We talked to alot of people about traction compounds and followed exact directions from them. While we were using the Toledo mix we found that qualifying was over after the first round. Lap times dropped at least 1/2 second between the first and third rounds of qualifying. When we used the Mowerly mix, it was more consistant but lap times were down because the traction was down.
On practice days we had been using soda to save the "good mix" for race days and we were finding that we were just as fast and it was staying consistant. Earlier this season we decided to start giving the soda a shot on race days, and so far we have been very happy with the results!

Default Traction Compounds

I always enjoy races where traction rolling is NOT an issue. That's primarily why I asked about what you guys were using. With all the different sealers out there, it takes awhile for a track to become "seasoned" and accustomed to one traction compound. The weather so far looks decent for the weekend.....and I hope the turn-out is good too! RayJ

The only time that we had traction roll problems that I know of, was when we coated the surface twice with the Toledo mix once last year...once! I believe that you will be happy with the balanced traction.

I can not speak for Sedan, but in 1/8th most of us run 35's all the way around and some of us use 37's on the rear.

It will be a very warm and beautiful Fall weekend.
We should also see a pretty Good turn out this weekend. If you can, Pack up your car and give her one more scream before winter.

Out Siders coming over.
From Detroit- Toledo; Howard Bartman (with his Cub Hat), Lou PZ, hopefully RayJ and a Red car.
Cincy; Heard Dennis and Johnny were coming over. Someone should twice Darin and Eli's arm. Plus David Lee from Indy
Chicagoland; Steve Larzarus, IRA would be cool. Hopefully, Dan Lewis and Nick could come on down plus more. It is an easy 5 hour drive from Chicagoland.

If you are planning to come out, let everyone know. Some of us well be at the Track on Friday Afternoon testing the layout.

It will be to nice of a weekend to not get out and enjoy it.

Dude,

Glad to see you can make it over. The St Louis track is very nice, you will feel at home with it's technical 1/12th look.

Is the Skipster going to make it up this weekend?

I am pretty sure that Skip will be here, and you know how much he likes 1/12th scale!

Well, if you missed this race, you missed some good ol fashion close competition again. If you made this race you know what I mean. This track has a lot a character. Congrats to all the racers that came to this race and had a good time. Looking forward to going back next year and break some of the track records.............................
