Jeff,

I like the pic of you, Loran, and your son in one of the latest r/c mags. Looks like you and the family had a blast. Hopefully we will hook up again on a track somewhere in the US soon.

I guess I haven't seen it. I will have to look for that. It was probably from The Byrons Challenge Race up in IL. That was a fun race too. We didn't run that great there though.

Hey Ray. several of us run 4's so I am sure that we will have enough parts to keep you running.

Sorry Ira, nobody has the X yet. I'm running the MRX4R if you need something I'll be glad to help. Soooo, does that mean you'll be running 1/8th instead of sedan?

Look forward to racing with you again Jeff. I think I'm going to do winternats again this year. Are you heading down?

By the way.......in St louis what shores tires are you guys running on your MTX-4's? What kind of traction compound are you guys putting down?

Looking forward to coming down and race with the crew, I will still be racing the sedan. I will pick up the 1/8th over the winter for next year.

See you in 4 days, Ray J hope you can make this one and what about Dennis?

Later,
Ira

Same here. I barely got to say Hi at the Byrons race. We will be at the WinterNats for sure.

When the temps are up in the 90's I run 40's on the front and 42's on the rear. If it is 80 or below I will start with 40's all around. Someone from St Louis will have to answer the traction compound question. See ya in a few days.

Default 40 & 42's

Thanks Jeff. It's pretty much the same with 40's and 42's everywhere I guess. I am curious as to what traction compound they use? Is it similar to Toledo's mixture? Is it VHT.....is it that Molzer mowery stuff?

Does anyone have an idea what the turn-out will be like?

Hi Ray,

We've tried it all except the VHT. Lately, we've had great success using the grape soda. Initially we used the Toledo mix which worked well for the first year or so. However, we noticed (lap results) that as the day progressed and the track got hot lap times were significantly slower. The Toledo mix for us doesn't seem to be consistent. Then we tried the Mowerly mix for 5 or so races. The traction was less than good, it didn't hold down the fine dust and was really difficult to clean out of the sprayer. Now we're using grape soda which provides great traction, maintains consisitent lap times that betters slightly as the foam builds and holds down any traction robbing dust. Plus it's EASY to clean up, and less expensive. That's the long answer and why, in case your wondering.

Short answer grape soda.

Hope you can make it out.

Larry S.
