Kyosho V-ONE R4 1st speed oneway holder
Hi,
I got trouble to get 2nd speed working for my V1 R4. I can't feel it can swtich to 2nd when accelerate in straight line.
I found something interesting. I download PDF manual from Kyosho website and compare with the paper one included inside the car kits. The PDF version got an extra washer next to 1st speed one way holder( VZ432B, see pic attatched). And there is no such wash in the paper manual, I also can't find this washer in my kits.
Just wonder if without the washer, 2 speed function still working??? Or that is the reason cause my 2nd speed not working.
The other thing I want to mention is my clutch shoe. In the manual, it suggest 3.5 turn out from close. But once I make upto 3 turns, the screw already out of thread. Any one experience that??
So, 2nd speed not working:
- no washer in 1st speed one way holder??
- or 3 turn for clutch shoe too tight??

Thanks kev to highlighted this.. i believe the washer more to align the gear between spur and the pinion - not for 2nd speed shift.
The 2nd speed engagement as you said can be set by loosen the clutch shoes.

Use a 0.3 mm. washer between the two spurs otherwise the holder of the 1st slightly touches the 2nd spur

3.5 turns on clutch shoes is only a starting point, turn screws CCW(Counterclockwisw) an 1/8th turn till it start shifting. Remember Turning the adjustment screw in(CW) delays the shifting point.
