I expect the RRR would have the engine mount holes in the chassis about 3mm further back.
I installed the FW-05R engine mounts and 33mmm flywheel with no impact to the gear mesh. The only modification I had to do was grind down some of the chassis on the uppper side of the flywheel opening so that the clutch bell wouldn't rub against it. In fact a lot of people around here are doing this with their Evolutions.

Default lower engine

hi guys, ive been lowering the engine since the first v-one -r.
try 16mm mounts and a 31mm fly wheel. ( you need a lathe and mill).......its great.

Is the VoneRR a good car to race? I might be trading for one but I would like to have a car that can be competitive, and find parts for it.Thanks for any help/input.

Yes it is a good car to race. Some of the Ol timers can attest to this. I have had mine for 3 years

That's interesting. I was also using 14mm engine mounts (I think the FW's are 14mm) and the 33mm flywheel.
But I couldn't get the engine back nearly far enough to have the gears mesh properly. We're using the Shimo chassis and while I haven't compared the engine mounting holes to the standard chassis, I would expect them to be in the same place. Maybe I should check this again.
Yes, we also had to do a bit of a dremel job to clear the clutch bell.

Hi fellow Evo racers. I have a huge problem with my Evo. Today at a race, hight temp 25 degrees, very good tracktion, i keept tracktion rolling, in most turns. i am using 50wt oil and org. springs in front, 40 shore tires, and anti roll bar at it stiffest. In rear 30wt/silver springs.

Problem is, i feel that i need much traction to hold the speed thru the corners, where Mugen and G4`s are passing much faster.

My car oversteers huge into corners and understeer out, maybe i should change my driving style??

Default traction rolling

hi guys.... to stop the car traction rolling. we found that you have to drill another hole on the rear shocker tower as low as you can..( see pic) make sure the shocker is on the top hole and the camber link is on the lower inside and highest outside......4mm ride height, and make sure you srub the outer edges of your tyres rounded.....

Default traction rolling

we tried every thing on high traction tracks to stop it traction rolling....this worked....we also use the upgrade front tower. ( i made my own).to raise the front shockers....the rear makes a much better improvement as it allows the rear to have a greater camber angle in the corner,,hence no traction roll....if you just want to turn flat stick in the corner...no car will do what you want.............................................. ..............

what springs are you using, and oil?

Is it faster to brake before corner, and full speed out, and make the car having more on power steering than off?

Have you tried stiffer springs like the GOLD ones or maybe thicker oil #60 or even 45 shore tire, Another thing I have tried is change the Caster angle. Also try changing the front roll center
