Ok guys, right now I am currently driving a regular V one R and was thinking of converting it to the latest and greatest I can for this car. You will have to excuse my ignorance as I have been out of racing nitro for a couple of years due to other unfortunates. Is there an upgrade kit I can buy for this car or will this be a project of I need parts from another upgrade kit to be able to upgrade to the latest car specs, because I am hoping all I have to do is buy one kit and I am there? By the way what is the latest upgrade, a V one RR Evo? Where do I get the kit upgrades or should I wait for this new supposed upgrade coming out? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes you can upgrade. An upgrade kit was available but it is quite difficult to come by now. I actually have a spare one if you are interested. It is not new, but has never been raced.

The latest available upgrade is to the V1RR EVO spec.

Well welcome back. It seems that it's a common thing to leave the sport for awhile and then come back. Just like Al Pacino said in the Godfather 3 "Just when I think I'm out..... they PULL ME BACK IN". Once you get Nitro in your blood you're on the that long road to getting the fastest and nicest car. Anyway I'm in the same situation I have a V one RR I'm thinking of switching over to an evo (laid down servo) but the RRR is a newest and latest has the same thing as an evo but with a NEW gas tank, rear hubs and some other new goodies. But it won't be out for a few months. You can find Evo kits on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW this is the JPL conversion a little different ( I think it has a 4mm chasis instead of Kyosho's 3mm). Maybe someone could lighten us on which one is better the JPL or the Kyosho.... Anyway good luck

Guys.
Just found out the car I bought is NOT evo spec.. I really liked the laydown servo, and I thought it was when I first bought it. Is it possible to convert the front end? Also, does the regular V one RR come with 0.8 gears? I really should have looked. I am very pissed, I thought the car I bought was an evo all along, and the postal service is pissing me off with their slow service too.

Rob- you're in the same boat. I thought when I the saw the ebay add it was just a RR. Anyway's they are two conversion kits available. The Kyosho one and a JPL Racing one. On ebay you'll find both of them (although right now there's only the JPL). I really don't know which kit is better but the JPL looks good. But it's missing the .8 module and the 2 speed kit. About the USPS. The guy I bought my Mugen from sent it from Florida on a Tuesday and I got it on a Thursday. I know there tracking system sucks but I can't complain about the service. Ohh yeah he sent it USPS Postal Priorty. Did your seller send it Priorty???? Anyway how's the engine?? Have you taken it apart yet??? Make sure to go through all the bearings and good luck..... The RR is still an awesome car......

I bought this conversion kit. Everything is there to convert to Evo spec. The chassis is the 3racing one and is nice.

The front has longer swing arms with the laid down servo.

I didn't even get it yet dude... the guy said processing takes 2-9 days, it's at the post office in my town! I think it might come today. What is the advantage of the 0.8 gears? On tower, they're about 9 dollars for each spur/pinion.

.8 modules give u more tunability with ratios and are also supposed to improve smoothness in the drive train. But be warned if ur a car park racer u could have some pretty bad wear on the spurs.

Thank You Nitropimp! Good deal. I might try to contact Kyosho and see about a kit or see if my local Kyosho helicopter rep could get me in some things. Sweet! I miss the smell of nitro. First outdoor race is Saturday.

Yes the 0.8M gears are supposed to be more efficient, but I couldn't see it.
We've found them too fragile to be practical - broken/missing teeth on the spurs. Also, since the teeth are finer and the Kyosho pinions wear very quickly, the mesh has to be checked constantly. There is less margin for error when the teeth are fine and they wear quickly - it's a lot easier to strip a spur..
Anyway, we went back to the 1.0M gears and it's all good.
