Got a chance for some track time this morning, tested a few new things out....
I tested the active diff in the rear again. This time it was perfectly behaved, so I assume it must have broken in or something. I could make fine settings of the rear diff tightness very easily, very impressed with its performance today.
I installed 2 x 9550 futaba servos. These fit in nicely and give a huge amount of extra space in the radio area. They seem to power the brakes and the steering just as well as my old 9450s used to. Very happy with these beasts.
Went down to 30wt shock oil all around and I am impressed with how much more reaction I get out of the suspension. Mayby a bit too much in the front.
Used my tires from their stock 65mm size on a bumpy and loose track. I have decided that I like it better. The reaction of the steering dulls away a little, but the car has much more forgiveness between grip and spin.

clutch setting
hi, there,
my 3d centrax clutch engage very late. so the rpm very high then acc strongly. however there is no low - mid speed.
if i set it engage early. will it damage the clutch?
i set it earlier, then some days later, it become later, and later.
how can i lock the timing of engage?

how can i lock the timing of engage?
1/. clutch spring
2/. clutch bell end play
3/. shim betwee clutch bell inner bearing and engine nut
the problem with your clutch could be either or all of the about improper set up of your clutch.
1/. the stiffer the spring tension, the later then clutch engage
2/. more end play reqired clutch spring compress more i.e. clutch will engage later
3/. excessive shim there will also cause late clutch engagement.
the general setting of the above
1/. stock clutch spring: within 2mm engine nut thread exposed
2/. approx 0.3mm end play
3/. either none shim or just enough shim to let the clutch bell spin freely.

Although, Andrew Abbott raced at Lilydale on Sunday and was running the new Picco XP-12RE. He reckoned he was keeping the pace and even catching the big boys with JPs etc. Mind you he had to pit quite often cos he had a leak in his fuel tank .
I asked him and he reckoned it's better than his previous RS12 S3.

What type of track, AMG?
At our last meet, we seemed to encounter rather more suspension "bounce" than I thought acceptable. I put it down to the kit shock oil (what . . . about 40wt) and the warmer weather. I changed the front to 60wt and it seemed pretty good. Next weekend we'll try 70/60 and see how it "looks".
