Default Springs....

There's so many different springs in the back of the manual so which are the springs I should be looking at getting? I've read that most of you guys are getting good results from the Light Blue ones.

I want to get the whole set i.e. all the different colours in that particular range, for example, the FMW12-418 (light blue), 419 (white)& 420 (pink) and then FMW13-5318 (light blue), 5319 (white) & 5320 (pink).

I would get all the spring sets, you could spend a good day finding what works best for your style or track condition.

Hey, I thought you TQ'd by a mile on those dreary old black springs.

Anyway, I put all those springs through a spring rate calculator.
The actual rate is just a relative one - you will see that some are essentially duplicates of others.
I don't know what the "L" suffix means on some of them - maybe "Long".
I couldn't do the Fantom springs 'cos they don't state the number of active coils.

Uhhh... that "TQ" doesn't really count for much in the big picture ! There's always room for improvement though .

Anyway thanks for the info .

No worries.
Now, when are you coming down to Dandy for a day?
The weather man says sunny and 20 for this Sunday. and Lilydale isn't running this weekend.
. . . . there - plenty of time to suck up to for a lift.

This Sunday..... well darn, wouldn't ya know it..... we're going away this weekend .

Lilydale's running the Victoria vs. South Australia 1/5th Scale battle this weekend .

I'd like to race at a different track, but I'd probably hang the car up on the boards.... when I get the hang of the car a little more (never ).

For future reference, is there a canteen or something similar there?

Sheeesh . . . "Canteen"
Man, this is a race track, not a restaurant.

We usually have a BBQ.

Dude you are a genius!! That one is printed out and stuck onto my pitbox. I can tell you the number of coils on some of the fantom springs if you like tonight. I have the yellows and the pale greens.

Finally got some more track time up my sleeve..............

On power steering issues. Here is one I don't understand, and it may be due to track conditions or otherwise. I recently installed the Shimo chassis plate and the graphite top deck. After going back to test the car on the track it seemed to have better turn in and also superior on power steering. I then recently installed the kawahara side brace and the fivestar left hand brace back on to the car (Increased the weight to 1730g ) and the car now felt like it turned in better again and also had even better on power steering.

Anybody else felt these changes to their car? Do any of you have both braces on the car?

Now... this fancy looking AP Brake Pad & Rotor set.... anyone know much about it? I need to do something to the braking or my car because the only way I could prevent the car spinning while on brakes was to have virtually none at all !

Will it help me in that respect?

This is normal with the oneways. I have the soft brake shoes and the precision ground disc which does prevent the car locking its wheels and you can brake a fair bit harder. BUT you will NEVER stop on a dime with a oneway. If you need good brakes, use a front diff.
