On most of my engines I persuade the sleeve with a piece of bamboo. Anything wood and softish is fine, just push hard enuff and it should pop, then you can pull from the top. The rod will not come off with the sleeve in place.

AMGRacer:

I see in your signature line that you have a Richie RTU. Have you opened it up for a look at the mods?

Default Gearing...

Hi All...
I am currently running stock gearing, 16/20 48/44.
If I want to increase the low-end torque, can i only change the 1st pinion gear from 16T drop to 15T? is this ok?
Must i change the 1st spur to 47T also?
Kindly advise...cheers

No more in production... At least for now. Mr. Dennis Ritchey has stopped making it for the moment.

For now, we just have to be contented with the JP modified, M-Speed, MS tuned or Rody tuned engines...

don't forget about j=tech, he's right there.

On these M-speed? Anybody know anything about them? I know they're incredibly expensive - I saw on OS 01 go for over 400 dollars on ebay. What's the scoop on these?

Yes you can freely change the spurs. Kyosho has kindly made them all the same size regardless of number of teeth so your mesh should also remain static.

Only problem I can see is that a 5 tooth spread may drop you out of your powerband on the 2nd gear shift depending on engine type.

Problem with j-tech was that he ignored repeated emails from me requesting info. Perhaps he does not want to send overseas?

I have never seen a M-Speed going but I have heard that they are nothing special over any other modified engine. Just really expensive.

hey guys, i have a problem, i cant get my overall width to be 200mm and under, its over if i use 30mm rear tyres. if i just tighten the pivotballs and screw them in more, when i compress the chassis, it doesnt go down all the way due to the fact that there isnt enough room for the dogbone to move. any ideas?

Make sure you are using the short dog bones for the rear, they are identifiable by a raised ring in the middle of the shaft.
