did you have any issues of carb clearance using the kawahara mounts? I had to file the deck some to get mine to clear for the collari, now with the pixie it seems i'll have to use the engine mount spacers, but that to me defeats the purpose of having lcg mounts. Just wondering if you had a creative way around it.

Also, in my quest for a lightweight v1r, i've found HUGE weight savings is in the battery. An 1100 mah pack weighs more than a 700mah, which weighs more than a custom pack. I've got the kfactory deck (weighed both fully loaded with all electronics and tubing) with reflex handle and micro battery pack weighing in 5 oz less than stock deck with 1100 mah hump pack.

5 oz may not sound like a lot, but considering i've been scrapin for .2 oz here, .3 oz there, that's A LOT!

Bad news though, pixie for some reason weighs 1.2 oz more than novarossi engine

Yep you will have the following issues:

1. It will strike the upper deck and it needs to be ground away a bit. If you actually look at the Kawahara top deck they are already pre-clearanced for you.
2. Most likely the centax clutch will rub on the chassis plate and you will need to relieve it some.
3. Sometimes the brake disk will hit the back of the carb. Just angle it a bit.

Why do you need spacers with the Pixy?

Dont listen to most web site advice. I have seen MANY websites with some very dodgy modification advice.

I have a friend up here who can mod your engines very well, and I can give you some ideas of where to start if you like. Ask kickass about the engine mods if you like he has seen them.

You can always retap the case for a slightly larger screw size.

Anyone got tips on maintaining/relubing one-ways??

Also, why did Kyosho change the Ackerman on the RR?? No wonder I didn't have as much low speed steering steering!

Yep motormans info is VERY reliable. I actually run one of his mod engines and it is incredibly quick. Drop me an email and I can give you some info.

My tip with one-ways is dont maintain them. Every time I have messed with one and relubed with the proper oil (serpent) it has started slipping on me. Mayby I am doing it wrong tho

What do you mean about the Ackerman?? I did not notice that it was different to the R version. What part is different??

ASD go and get a new crank case and be more careful. There is very little space to re-tap oversize in the OS case. The STS motor is very good, I have had very good results with this engine.
