I was thinking that the hex hubs, sway bar and graphite towers would be the first that i will be purchasing. Due to the disgrace that is our local track we need all the traction we can get. I will take a photo for u guys this weekend of the crap that sits on the track and the danger that eventuates if u run off...... Manticore when u see the picture u will probably say that we should be racing the Inferno

I understand that the V1R is extremely popular in Singapore and I am sure you can get hold of most of the hop up there.

I was at a race this past weekend and Joel Johnson was there with the new Trinity Reflex. This car is sweet. It's basically a V-ONE R with KFACTORY hopus. The molds are slightly different and are actually an improvement over the stock molds. Everything looks interchangeable with the V-ONE R, so if you were thinking about getting hopups for your V-ONE R, you might want to consider just buying the Trinity Reflex. For the price and all that it comes with, you can't beat it.

I really think that the Trinity car has many of the "useless" hopups that do not really help that much. So it and the V One R will perform almost identical anyhow even though the V One R is "less hopped up" out of the box.

Was that the race in Salinas, CA? Joel told me at the last RCCAR meeting Thursday last week that he had the car in his possession, but left it at his sister's work's cubicle, and was going to try to get it to Eric Vasutin to display at CASTLE HOBBIES in San Jose, CA. I wanted to see the car so I can make the comparisson myself as well. How was the race in Salinas by the way? I wanted to go, but had stuff to do that day, and I already raced at DELTA RC the night before and was already tired from running both V-One R's there. Well hopefully they'll whip the Trinity Reflex out at the last RCCAR nitro race this Sunday at CASTLE HOBBIES.

I think many of the parts on that car are not useless at all. In fact some of them are quite useful. The 4 mm Chassis and carbon upperdeck and shock towers do add strength to the car. I have seen people break the rear shock towers and I myself have bent the stock 3mm chassis from a head on collision with a concrete wall from a runaway. The Universals will also help the commom dogbone popping out problem that happens. The lighter shafts will reduce rotating mass of the drive train which will lead to higher speeds. In a sense, maybe performance it may not help totally that much, but in the strength and durability department, it does help quite alot.

But on the upside... How many people go in for all that eye-candy... I know I am a sucker for shiny stuff. Sure its peformance value might be negligeable, but there is nothing like owning a car thats easy on the eye!!

After dumping way too much money on my Racer2 I'm going about my V one R alot different, only getting what I can see will make a difference.

But if the Reflex comes with alot of "options" out of the box at a decent price then it may be worth looking into. We will most likely never see it in stores here in Oz, but for the Yanks it may be a viable option.

And the best thing I can think of..... If there is parts "interchangeability" mabey we will see the price of parts and options come down, and possibly more aftermarket companies to choose from.

Art

The race was in Salinas. It was a pretty low turnout so it was kind of like a practice day. Joel was out there with the Reflex and he lapped the field by 3 or so laps. The car looks really nice with KFACTORY hopups and a few minor changes to the moldings to add strength. The hopups were all silver, not the anodized red like in the pictures. He wasn't sure what color the final product would be in, but it looked sweet.

I agree that they are "athestically" pleasing!! The car looks very nice. My point was that the performance of the V One R is great, and adding graphite and thicker alloys you really do not increase the performance greatly. I agree the lighter drivetrain is very worthwhile, and universals are nice. But the Trinity is not going to blow all other cars tracks because of this.

Example:

My Racer 2 with every hopup available just about (graphite and alloy all over it) never lapped any faster than any other Racer 2 in stock form.

So I am trying to caution everybody from rushing out and purchasing all the latest and best hopups in the hope it will make you faster, it wont. The minimal benefits of the flex reduction from the graphite top deck is nothing compared to driving consistently and with nice lines......

However if you are after a nice looking car with great hopups for a good price look at the Trinity!! Just don't expect to beat everyone automatically with it

Rant over

I agree. The Nitro Reflex looked really nice, but Joel Johnson could've been driving a TYCO RC out there and still probably lap the field.
