Hooked_on's car is a modified car for the class we have in Oz. We have pullstart and non-pullstart class, and some crazy guys (hooked_on!!! ) are modifiying Mugen, V1R or Serpents to run pull-start engines for the class They don't even start the cars with the cord

Default My Car & The New Car!

Hello All,

I see i have stirred up a hornets nest with my comments yesterday regarding the "New Car"....

I now assume everyone is interested in hearing what it is all about.

Well,

The car is due to be released World wide in May. All Team drivers have been given the new car and are testing it now. Kyosho are apparently not happy with the rear of the existing car and this will be the only major change between the two. It will have a similar rear too the V-One RR GT and my understanding is that an uprade kit will be available for the old car and will simply bolt on.

Stay tuned for more info....

True.....

But for Brendales friday night class you have to use that bloody cord. The only way you can compete with these other pullstart pro cars is to join 'em. As for having a bit of fun screwing a force 12 pullstart to the backing plate on the Rs12 would be a scream around Meakin Park and it looks like the President is cool with it too.....

Ohh man, why use Pullstarts for such good cars? Change them to non pull-starts! It will surely improve the performance of the car... And they look better! hee

not all kawahara parts are good.

for example, the disc rotor is bad. I find the MTX2 stock disc rotor works best and the adaptor holes on the stock disc doesnt deformed but the kawahara one deformed badly.
I think the V1RR stock disc and kawahara disc are made of same material.

The kawahara pullies are not long lasting too. I havent tried but my friend has had bad time with it when it wears off after a couple of litre of fuel.

Ya I read the article in the recent Nitro Magazine about the mugen mtx2. I knew that Kawahara made parts for the V1R and I've been wanting to do the samething as the article but with the V1R. Thanks for the info HEYALIGNMENTGUY.

Manticore that is interesting. I have been running the Kawhara rotors and pulleys on both my V-One-R and MTX-2 for 8-10 months with no problems what so ever. Regarding your friend wearing out alloy pulleys after a couple of leters of fuel I find that extremely hard to believe unless his belts are made of 60 grit sand paper, mine still look brand new.

Yeah I find it difficult to believe too ! I have the kawahara disc on my MTX2 for 4 weeks track time and ran thru around 50 to 60 tanks and the adaptor holes starts to oval. Now replaced it with the stock old and trusty disc on it. The stock old has been with my MTX2 for one years and it is in great shape.

I will post the picture of the worn out kawahara disc later on.

I need to check if my friend put sand paper as drive belt or not !
