I have run into that problem but havent had a chance to test out a new setup to help cure that yet.

I just put this baby together and seems quite impressive, still needs a bit of work and to be run in.

Enjoy,

I would hazard a guess that if you take them out you would end up with serious play in the cups.

Am I close Cartman???

You may get serious play in the cups after some time, when they are new they are very tight.

I use them on my TA03 years ago, to get rid of the slop in the steering.

What is the overall drive ratio on this car? I need to know if a second gear ratio of 4.4:1 is possible. If not what is the highest it can go?

According to the manual (page 34) you can go as high as 4.33 : 1.

4.41:1 is obtained with a 58 spur and 25 pinion.

Does this help?

Yes that helps. I am scouting other cars now, and one of the things I need to consider is being able to gear for a 270 foot straight. The RS4 3 and MTX2 and even the reflex (I think) are out because of gearing. That leaves the MTX3, LD3?, R12, GT4 and 705. How is the durability of the R12? The one part that concerns me is the lower pivot balls in the arms; and also the composite Axles. Anyone care to admit slamming some boards and breaking some parts?

270Feet, damn thats a big straight.

I think they will be as durable as the next car, all the suspension and most of the drive train is straight from the Fussion with the 3 speed and 21 engine in it and I have seen one of those running around a velodrome and being clocked at over 100Km/h (small velodrome not much time to wind up) down the straight, I also witnessed some monumental crashes with it and it survived.

I'm still in the process of running mine in so it's all observation at the moment. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks when I have my first race meeting with it.

If you rulled out the Reflex NT, how could you include the MTX-3? It has about the same final drive ratios as the Reflex NT and the V1RR.

Cars which you should look into for high speed (low final drive ratios) should be the GT-4 (4.4 I think), NTC3 (4.44) and the 705 (4.4).

BTW, the information about the Schumacher is interesting, which makes it the newest candidate for high speed tracks. Never knew that it had a low final drive ratio.

Your correct with the GT4. It has identical gearing and internal ratios as the 705.
