Default RC PRO Great Lakes Div. #2 Toledo 6/16&17

Racers,

The Toledo Club will be hosting race #2 of the RC PRO Great Lakes Div. on June 16th and 17th. If you can attend, that would great. We will be running the RC PRO layout for this race.

Entry forms are now availble on the RC PRO web site for nitro On-road.

Roger E. Williams will be the Race Director for this event. It should be entertaining.

FYI
I just booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express and they told me they were almost sold out due to either a local horse or car race (she did not which).

Ted do you know if there is a race at Toledo speedway that weekend?

Ah, more stress. So much to do and so little time.

On Friday June 15th the ARCA Super Speedway guys race in the lated afternoon at Michigan MIS 2 miles track. Hornish will be running a Penske car in the ARCA race. You can watch the Cup and Truck guys practice before the race. Some of the Toledo club members went to this last year and got our moneys worth. $20 and a good wreck as they got the green flag to start the race. You cann't go wrong with ARCA.

If you are more into True Speed. G-Forces and Monkey Screaming. The ISMA Super Modifieds and AVSS Sprints will be on the 1/2 asphalt of Toledo Speedway. The Super Modifieds are the cars with the engine setting way over to the left of the car and moving top wings. Last time I was there the Sprint Guys were almost as fast. ~13 second on the half mile.
They put on a show, Raye watched them last year in Mansfield.

If I am in town this would be in my plans. Steve Lazarus ussually stops by to watch these guys.

Those Super's are really fasssssssst! Great to watch when the wings lower in the corners, and the throttle stays wide open. I used to drag race in stock and super stock so I can identify with that 'WOT' concept!! Woo woo!

Default RC pro race

This should be a fun race with the 10 min qualifiers. I enjoyed the format at the CAN-AM race. Last weekend the traction in Toledo was awesome, and almost NO tire wear to speak of. This will be a great chance as a tune-up for the GLC, and I hope there will be a great turn-out. I believe the format will be three round of qualifying on Saturday, and one round Sunday with the mains! I think!

It would be nice to see some reports of other races from the Pro-series website. The Canadian Pro-series was 3 weekes ago and Cincinnati had a Pro-series last year that was never even mentioned! No report or standings for this year! I guess Brian is doing a super job on reporting after all! Also Jimmy, I believe that Ted said that he would not be back in time to spray the track, unless someone else is going to spray it.

Guys

This is Steve, I would really like to have a report for each of the races of the RC ProSeries OnRoad. We ask each hosting club to help us with this but it doesn't always workout. I am unable to do a report for each race, I have 3 race in three weeks and I still have a hobby shop and raceway to run. We do try and get the results and points asap after each event.

It is good to be back in Toledo. Yahoo.
Everything is subject to change, but right now here is the plan.

Weather looks good and Summer like for the weekend.
The track will be sprayed on Friday Morning and should be good to practice on by Friday noon. I will not be at the track in the afternoon, but the track gate near the scoring area will be open.

Friday evening will find many of us at the Toledo Speedway on the North side town, just off of I-75 and Alexis Road. Skinny Raye, Bill, Gary, Rick, Steve Lazarus, Jon the modifieds and winged sprints put on a wild show. We usually set toward the top in Turn #1. I have been twisting the arm of the Great Gottfried, but I am afraid he may not make it unless a lazy boy is involved.

Planning to be at the Woodville Mall track again on Sat. morning around 9AM to get things started for our RC Pro event. Thanks to everyone who sent in their Pre-entries on such short notice.

TOP secret cell number if needed on Friday. (419) 215-4819
