Novarossi, I have no problem using my serpent starter box with my MTX-2.

When I bought the starter box, they give you 5 type of plastic adaptor: 3 for the front and 2 for the rear.

Default Setup help.... for Castle & Rams

ok... I have the car apart....

What is a good baseline setup for Castle Hobbies & RAMS??

I'm hoping to find a baseline where I can just drop the car down and go... then fine tune with tires. These tracks are temporary parking lot tracks, (I believe) they use VHT.

I need info on F/R diff oils, F/R shock oil, linkage and shock positions and spirngs...

And finally what about the front sway bar... The guy I bought the car from sent it with the car, but still in the baggy. Should I install it?? Or leave it off and just use the rear sway....

Thanks

Rich

Castle's not racing again until Feb. Dunno about Rams. You should start with the stock setup that's in the instruction and tune from there. The f/r swaybars work well at Castle. I run the front about 10 degrees from the softest position and have the rear flush with the collars. If you plan to run rubber tires, try Yokomo Sprint mediums all around with medium inserts in back and firm up front. If you run foams, swing by Castle and pick up the ZAC Project tires. Try 42's up front and 35's in back.

Good luck!

Manticore told me sway bar is a must for small and tight track.
As for shock oil, I am runing 60wt all around with Light blue springs, it seems like it works good on track as well as parking lot.
Camber linkage, you want to match it up with the lower A-arm as close as possible and as parallel as posible to eliminate camber changes when rear susp is moving up and down.

hope this help

What would happen if I stuck a solid in the front with a gear rear diff?
How about a solid front with the negative diff?
And the solid front with a solid rear?

dear ticore,

Thanks! I know no one will help me test it. I was asking for some theoretical insight as to what a solid front is suppose to do with those 3 combinations. Sheese people get grumpy in their old age.

Alloy upperdeck?
Graphite lower chassis?

Neither. Graphite upperdeck to stiffen and reduce some weight.

solid front / gear rear - wiiiiickid ( little understeer )

solid front / negative rear - extra wiiiiickid

solid rear / solid front - spins on its own axia ( looks wiiiiickid )
