Default diff setup help

Hi Guys im new new to the forum but i have been looking in
quite some time now im looking for info on diff setup, id like
to know what difference the different weight oils make in the
diff setup i.e. what does heavier front do and should i be using
heavy front and light rear or vice versa, what are the handleing
benefits for the different oils.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Oh yea i have an
MTX-2 ProSpec which is fairly hopped up at this stage.

Hey guys, I need some help with a very serious decision that I have to make.

A friend gave me a really good deal on a (gulp! )RE NTC3 kit(minus the useless tires/wheels) for $220 two weeks ago and I still have'nt assembled it because of serious second thoughts. I like the NTC3 only because of the shaft drive, awesome acceleration, and the fact that it's an Associated.

I'm currently doing very well at our club races with my two year old MTX-2 and i'm in the process of rebuilding my back-up/donor car for stock class. BUT, I really hate it when those NTC3's out accelerate my car using the same engine that i'm using. That's kinda why I bought the NTC3 kit(If you can't beat 'em..........).

I guess what i'm trying to say is I need your success stories with MTX-2's. Especially the hard fought(and won) races against NTC3's. I need more excuses to get rid of the NTC3 so I can spend the money on a Playstation II.

Please, NO drag racing/bashing stories.

yes as far as i know the NTC3 has an advantage because the overall weight of it is only 1550g which is way under race legal.

To backup what Manticore just said my Prospec kit weighs 1830g. I have Kawahara deck, negitive diff, use that Ofna brick pack vs std reciever pack and 2 shoe 2 speed. Rest is stock. ROAR legal I believe is 1750g.

I love it! great bottom and top end! but the only problem is: It is not roar legal I think! Also it's a bit on the soft side so need to be careful!

Oh it is not Kawahara enging, it's Kawahara Zac overside cooling head!
Man that thing is so good it keeps my engine much cooler! Oh I am currenting using RB X12T 5 port and I normally run it at 240~250 and with this head I am running the same speed but the temp is only 206~212!

So this is one excellent mod from Kawahara
