Default set up

my set up is

1.5 camber
1 small caster spacer at front
1.5 toe out
blue spring
60 wt oil with 3 1mm holes in piston
2nd hole up in front mount
200m wide
anti roll on softest
+1mm droop
super grease in front diff

rear
2 toe in each side
1.5 camber
purple springs
60 wt oil
4 1mm holes in the piston
2nd hole up on mount
200mm wide
rear roll bar soft
+6mm droop
5000 diff oil

I have understeer on power fine on inital turn in but it could be sharper. I did have the off power oversteer but got rid of that with the droop alterations. Will the shocks make THAT much differance? i still suspect my diff to be too stiff. i will try the shocks though.

Default please help with setup

hello everyone...i have a first generation MTX-2, and i was wondering if i could get some help in setting up the car...

the stock settings made the car "floaty" and unstable at high speed...i do not run foam tires...there is NO one way, nor a negative diff...the car is pretty stock, except for a large bumper and belt tensioner...

i would greatly appreciate any setup settings, to get me started in tuning this car...also, what kind of non-foam tires/inserts are you folks using?

also, is there a website (or a post) that lists exactly what kind of changes will be made in the handling when a suspension change is made to the car (e.g. making the rear camber rod long and parallel to the suspension arm will result in more rear traction, etc.)...

and what brand bodies are people using...the HPI bodies are the mos available in my area, but i notice that the rear wheel wells do not line up correctly...

THANX in advance!

Dude, my setup is listed above. Kit is a prospec with the 1 way removed. Stock droop rear is 8mm. Ride height is 4mm front, 6mm rear. I do not have the online site that has info, but a good book is @ m-powered reacing. Martin Crisp did a good job on this. He is responding to a thread on the electric forum, "faster corner like a pro". Guessing on what you have is a bit tuff. Post y our setup and then someone here can help.

Tires I listed are rubber. Treadz are preglued with inserts. Tires are a medium compound with med/firm insert on a dish rim. I h ave also run medal pros hards, suck! and sorex 32 with HPI green (firm) insert on proline gumby rims.

Bodies: I am running protoform and I have seen HPI. The rear wells do not line up. Cut prior to painting to get them close is what I do.

Hey Siokoy, what would be a normanl tension for the shocks?
Thanks!

I don't have any pictures yet, I can get some to you in a couple of days. The car is less than 6 months old, I just switched to the Nitro TC3.

Put your car on a block or on a car stand Suspension arms should be at rest without any load then adjust your tensioner until it reaches the springs. Then check your car on a flat ground... or on a setup board then test the dumping. After testing try tweaking your car you'll see the difference its almost balanced in all four suspension.

Looks good.

All I can see different is the one piece flyweights which arn't freely mounted (like the 4 piece Mugen units) and the metal flyweight holder.
the clutch arrived here yesterday. very limited supply.
it comes with low CG engine mount and trust bearing. i.e. all you need to built the clutch.

the flywheel is very small and light weight.

it is amazing...............

It has MTX2, V1RR version available.
