Cartman

Check Paris Racing's webpage under the tech tips section. They have recommended breakin settings listed there.

I am having good luck with the MT 12, but I am partial to Nova engines. Runs good with that cyntax clutch. I added the Kawahara 2 speed for smoother shifts. Not real partial to finger type.

Hi all,

What are the tallest gears that I can get to fit on my mtx with axial clutch?

Chris,

The tallest I know of are the Powerline 42t delrin spur and the 22t Avance pinion. I've heard of some people running a 23t Yok pinion, but it's my understanding you have to do some creative shimming.

thanks tom, i thought the avance used the two shoe clutch instead of the axial. are the pinions interchangable?

The Avance pinions are a little thinner than the MRX2 pinions (I have the MRX2 clutch), but they fit fine. I've run the 22t Avance pinion with 18t MRX2 pinion without any problems or shimming required.

Regarding Kawahara's rear conversion set. Why do they include drive shafts/dogbones with it? They seem to be too short. I just got it and did not have the chance to test them out but the stock ones seem to fit perfect at 200 mm width.

Also, Kawahara's Light Weight Pivot Balls (K-720), what are they made of (type of material), titanium? Thanks for your help.

Because the lower A-arm is shorter then the stock one to accomodate wider rear tires and still within 200mm that's why you need shorter dogbone!
