if you think about it you only will make that purchase once and it should last you pretty much forever! but racers will spend over $400.00 on a modified nitro motor that may last a few months or so before spending another $150 or so to rebuild it so $95 for a pt is a bargain in my opinion

once you get one....you will wonder why you waited so long to do so....it makes a day of racing go so much easier......
no more looking for the right one.....having the battery die.....rushing to return it.....or forgetting to return it.....

It's a wonderful thing, but it is still a case of blatant price gouging.

Thats alright be grateful your not paying what we pay here in Australia. $150Aud which at moment is about $120Usd.
I do agree with the others though, convenience has been a major plus and I had forgotten about how much it cost me till I read your post also I think they are great quality and in the time I have had it, touch wood it has been faultless. I have noticed even used transponders sell for high prices so at least if you decide to sell it in the whole scheme of things your outlay shouldnt be to big.

I already own a personal transponder. I am not trying to start shit. I just cant figure out what technoligy could go into this thing to make it worth 100 bucks. Any high end receiver does not usually cost more than 100. Do they own(amb) any specific patetnts that steer competiton away. Thanks

Its not a bargain. The items you list are critical to performance in the racing world. a plastic box with two wires that counts laps isnt required to run and drive the car. But it is to race?

If you ever go to any big races you have to have one because they don't even offer them so the race does not stop trying to find a track supplied transponder.

I got lucky and got mine for $55 because I'm too cheap otherwise...but I do agree. It makes racing so much easier with not having to worry about the loaners...

Yes they do. Not only do they make a good product, but they covered avery angle. It's not just a little red box....legal fees cost $$$ too. Not defending them, its just part of it.

But if your looking for another one, I have them for $92 shipped to the US lower 48.
