save fuel??
if you need a car, get a hybrid
manual shift/stick shift is more efficiant than auto
ride a bike
increase the air pressure in your tyres, alighn steering
dont have the a/c on if you dont need it.
drive conservatively
get a job closer to home, sell your car
telecommute if you can
car pool
get lifts/ use public tranport

REDUCE CONSUMPTION

Good thing if they go up is, that they make you start think about your attitude towards energy consumption, which so far was pretty much non-existant.
Strange people these americans....

In Holland, we pay.... 1.50,- times 3.8 = 5.70,- Euro which is $7.70,- per gallon!!!!.....

In some places they pay .25 cents a gallon I heard. Also I barely fill up my car as I work from home. So Ill have no problem not filling up for a week before and after probably.

But im game and ill make sure the DD car doesnt get any gas that day either. Cant hurt. We should try to hold out as long as possible from that date. Throttle the car less and make sure your tires are well inflated to 35psi.

Also heres a tip for everyone. Tire pressure makes a huge difference in your gas mileage. Check it often and shift early about 2-3k in most cars and youll get great gas mileage. Also for those with manuals , when you brake , hit the clutch. Dont deaccelerate like you have a ferrari f1. Its bad for the car anyhow to engine brake. Brake pads are easy and cheap to replace , motors , motor mounts and transmissions are not.

America is slightly less expensive than other countries because we still drill 40-50% of the oil consumed right here in our own country. I'm not aware of any oil being produced near Holland or most of the other $7/gallon countries.

One of my friends just got back from Venezuela and gas really is only $0.25usd/gallon there but it also contains less "green" additives with lower taxes.

simplest solution for everyone is to stop buying gas guzzlers if you dont need it, your wallet will appreciate it.

Here you go lets hope this is the future...I can live without the noise.

Default URBAN LEGEND.....

Please do some research before you start believing in these things...The gasoline companys are just too f'ing greedy to control prices - or at least keep them reasonable for ALL users...

Just be glad us Americans don't live in other countries that DON'T produce their own oil, then we'd have something to bitch about
