Q: Which high end radio is the best???

-Airtonics
-Futaba
-KO/JR

A: All of the above

This is a subjective question that does not have a "correct" answer. A Futaba person will tell you that Futaba radios are the best, an Airtronics person will tell you that nothing compares to an Airtronics, a KO person will tell you that KO makes the best radios. Its all a matter of personal preference. Once you get past the ergonomics and aesthetics, everything else is pretty much the same. Although programming language may fluctuate (with different companies), the actual programming is comparable.

If you can, try the different radios and get a feel for what you like. From there your decision should not be too difficult. Good luck.

Very true I used a M8 for the longest, and one day drove a friends car that had a KO helios, and by the next day I was calling around for the best deal on a KO radio..

i used to use a 3pk but after driving a friends kyosho using a helios, i gave up on my 3pk and bought a helios.
my helios with a lipo is lighter than my 3pk without batteries!
i think i have been more consistant with my helios because i can concentrate on driving the car instead of trying to hold the 3pk. especially in a 30 minute main.

I personally prefer the 3PKS FASST system. Extremely smooth and very responsive. Also no glitches so far at all.

For the FASST you need a FASST tx module and Rx.

I think you are a little confused, the synthesised module is for use with a normal or synthesis rx, just allows you to change the frequency in the band you choose without crystals. IT is a different system

Hope this helps.

Hi mate, I can get a Brand New 3PK Super (crystal version I think it is) for 225... will the fasst unit fit in this radio? or is it a different set up all together? liek will the module just slide right into the radio? like whats different in the design of the radio? or is it identical?

if your going to get a lipo make sure it fits because the helios has a very narrow battery compartment. als o make sure you get a 3 cell lipo which takes you to 11.1 volts.

If I get the FASST Futaba receiver... Will I have to change my servo connectors? As i run JR and Hitec at the moment ?

Cheers
