Default SV SPEEDWAY GETS RESURFACED

Hey everyone just saying that SV speedway has been resurfaced and it looks great! I bet the tire wear should be tons better. The facility is really improving so by sometime. There is a race this coming weekend May 12-13 with cash payouts! Checkout the pics of the new raceway in the racing forum under SVM SPEEDWAY.. Sun Valley Ca. CHEERS!

Hit up some photos. Im sure that on-road racing will be good for SV since Rev is out. Goodluck.

1st pic shows the track when Terry started resurfacing. It shows those who been to SV what was happening...think of it like Extreme Home Make Over before and after shots

Looks good. What may I ask is being used to "resurface"? Is it a slurry sealer or paint? Either one should go a long way to reduce tire wear and dirty cars. I can't make this weekend since I have previous plans but keep us informed of the results and even photos.

Another thing that should help is with the darker contrast. You should be able to see your cars a little better from far away as long as you don't have a dark paint job. Can't wait to come and try it out.

I don't know exactly, it looks like a slurry seal.

It is sealer not paint. The new surface reduces tire wear drastically. As far as the first pic, it shows contrast of whats goin on. I personally think they should paint the green areas blue Now bring it! that is, if your not scared

That would be a good idea. Weather it's blue or green, it will complete the track and SV would probably attract more on-road racers and hobbiest.

I like the blue too. We tried to get some paint, but it's like $23.00 a gallon at the Home Depot. Anyone know of a cheaper solution?

The left most infield area is different and blue for a historical reason. It is called "the lake". When the track first opened and it was all dirt, there would be a tiny bit of a water build up there. So if you overshot past the light pole, you ended up in the lake. Then Karlton put blue astro turf to keep the theme going and to give the cars a slim hope of driving out of it Once the infield got filled with concrete and painted... you guessed it... the lake remained blue. I personally like it. I just think all of the paint could use a touch up since it has been a while (1/5 Worlds).

Either way it looks, it is FABULOUS. If you ask me. I know I am a little bias when it comes to my playground. the way it looks with two diff schemes is just that. historical. SV has a lot of history. did I say I like the way it looks.
ooops.... sad to hear that you are not coming... there will be another time... Yo Fraz-meister, please educate me on this, see below
this is from the SVM Thread.. I appreciate it...

Please educate me.... Rocket round is the fastest qualifier and Qualpoints is just that by points. in other words it is like a series it is how much point you accumulate right? please elaborate
