Rocket Round = Mains (drivers) are seeded by their single fastest qualifying time- laps/time. For example:

Driver 1: 20 laps/5:10 (in round 3)
Driver 2: 20 laps/5:12 (in round 1)
Driver 3: 19 laps/4:55 (in round 5)
Driver 4: 19 laps/5:01 (in round 2)
etc.

Qual Points = Specifically, dual qual points, is when drivers are seeded according to their two best (lowest) points out of however many qualifying rounds you run. For example, if you run 5 rounds of qualifying, a driver's two best points finished are added together and the resulting point total is used to seed drivers. For each individual round (not heat), TQ of that round gets 0 points, second fastest gets 2 points, third gets 3 points, and so on. If there are 10 heats of 10 drivers each (100 drivers), TQ for that round gets 0 points, while the one-hundredth fastest of that round gets 100 points). Every round (not heat) is scored separately, and times from previous rounds (not heats) are irrelevant. This system is good for tracks that experience wind, rain, dust, or other reasons for ever changing track conditions.

For example:

Round 1
Driver 1: 20 laps/5:10 0 points
Driver 2: 20 laps/5:12 2 points
Driver 3: 19 laps/4:55 3 points
Driver 4: 19 laps/5:01 4 points
and so on all the way down the list.

Round 2
Driver 1: 20 laps/5:08 0 points
Driver 2: 20 laps/5:11 2 points
Driver 3: 20 laps/5:15 3 points
Driver 4: 19 laps/5:05 4 points

Round 3
Driver 3: 20 laps/5:06 0 points
Driver 4: 20 laps/5:07 2 points
Driver 2: 19 laps/4:59 3 points
Driver 1: 18 laps/5:01 4 points
and so on all the way down the list.

In this example the drivers would be seeded like this:
Driver 1: 0 points (0 + 0)
Driver 3: 3 points (3 + 0)
Driver 2: 4 points (2 + 2)
Driver 4: 6 points (4 + 2)

Even though Driver 3 has the fastest overall time, he is not TQ. Even though Driver 4 has the second fastest time, he is qualified last.
Tie breakers vary, sometimes it is the next best points, other times it is the fastest cumulative runs that counted for points, other times it is a mystery. It is possible to set fastest time of the weekend (what most believe is TQ) and not make the main. It is possible to be one of the slowest drivers of the weekend (based on single fastest qual time) and be TQ of the event. Your software at the track should have options for both rocket round and qual points.

Let the confusion begin....

So much potential here. Everything you could ever want and more is at SVM.

Seing how awesome this place is and how im missing out on the fun really gives me the urge to come back again and race. Ohh ok being 20mins away does help .

Would like to pop down for another visit to see how offroad meeting goes. I would be surprised if it was anything short of a full house?

Is there anyone in charge of the offroad class or is it managed by one person and who?

Steve Dunn (http://www.raceprephobbies.com/SVspeedway.html) should be running the offroad club races on Saturdays.
