good luck to those who buy it, i hope that all the problems i experienced are no more... are they fixed in current G4S?
Yes.............all those problems you talk about have been sorted along while ago. The latest, G4s is now a growing contender in the world of touring car.
The plus is just another step towards perfection...
At leastTM are striving in that direction.

Anyone knows if the G4+ is any lighter than the G4S?

It is a little tricky to bring it down to the 1725 g range. Out of the box the G4S is around 1820g.

Wow! That much?! But then again, I guess it depends on what rx, servos, engine and pipe you are using.

What did you do to trim the weight off of your G4S?

I guess I have been too lazy to start trimming weight off my G4S.

But consider the disadvantage in kit form when comparing to the Serpent 720 or Xray that are very close or even below 1725 grams with everything mounted and ready to fire.

I have heard you can use titanium screws, aluminum clutchbell, even cut the rear diff pulley thinner since there is lots of meat there.

I saw Dennis Richey's G4S last year at the ROAR nats and it is incredible how far he went! He trimmed the thick portions of the rear diff case between the diff walls and the flange where the bearings rest. He even milled out some material from the back of the diff gears. I think he cut down a good 20 grams just out of the rear diff!!

Also, if you use a front spool, try using the lightweight one from Kfactory rather than the one included in the box, along with a plastic front diff pulley. This leaves out the ED transmission option, of course.

Some of the aluminum pulleys from the ED transmission can be replaced with plastic, I think.

I have also seen pics of plastic parts relieved of material where stress is not an issue.

Again, I´d rather spend time setting up the car. If the new chassis is lighter then we can save some time.

Not sure how it's over weight as I thought in stock set up it was around 1750 with the body on?

I would however like to know a little more how to remove weight from the rear diff.......that is a little heavy for sure.!..lol

Got a email from TM today.
Just a teaser of whats to come.

"The G4+ is a limited edition car with a limited quantity of only 999.
You will find two gorgeous special design logos in both the front and rear of the car.
The car will be coupled with Gold Colored Steel Turnbuckles, which makes it look not only deluxe but unique.
What is more special is that each G4+ will has its own serial number printed on the chassis, for example, 001/999."

Looking forward to more info

I am getting ready for a long trip now, but give me a couple weeks and once back home let me dig up a few parts (if I have not thrown them away) that show where the cuts are.

I'll have to take some pictures and upload them.

Please remind me of doing this in a couple weeks from now.

Cheers!
