Default Radio/ receiver issue?

Hi guys

Today i was running my rrr with futaba 3pk radio and just the standard pcm receiver 40mhz.

it was running sweet for the 3 heats and up until the first 5 minute pit stop in the final. just after my pit man refilled me and put me down i lost signal to the car and the car had its failsafe auto on.

i tried another crystal and nothing, tried another battery and still no signal.
i came home tried another reciver and it was fine. so i plugged back in the original that didnt work and now its all sweet.

has anyone had this before?? weird

a friend of mine had that problem. he opened the receiver cover and sprayed air on the circuit board using an air compressor. it then became fine. i think some fuel may have went in the rx

I too believe that to be a fuel spill. It may be a good idea to enclose the receiver inside some type of box or bag to protect it from this.

Electric tape , along the seams. Works wonders and its easy to get off , and its black and shiny so it doesnt look like butt. Also protects it from rocks and junk.
