Default receiver battery

whats a good flat pack battery that is reliable and will last a good while?

THe cheapest one with the highest amount of Mah that you can find. The main thing about a battery for a nitro is that it is maintained relatively well. Cycle it every month or so. If its a nicad, keep in a mostly discharged state when you're leaving it around for a week or something. If its a nimh, leave it at about a half-charge. Just don't cycle it too much. We don't need a ton of voltage, but need it to last long between charges, and have a long life, so only cycle it if you have left it around for quite a while.

Any NIMH 1100MaH battery will do. I use the Trinity one, pretty blue shrink wrap. But Dynamite, Peak and Orion make one as well. They are pretty much all the same, just different packaging.
