New car is very good. Easy to drive like the old car but more corner speed and faster lap times. 2 cars in the final at the world's was no accident.

question guys, what other parts from other models such as Mugen, Kyosho, Serpent will fit the Motonica? - I do see belts are extremely high in price, plus the option rear sway bar is robbery!

Really dont understand how you only get one part in a packet - is this to spend more or are these cars strong and low wearing costs than some other makes out there?

Would be nice if someone on this thread could work out what parts should be kept in your spares list?

Cheers Guys - i do like the look of this car and from the sounds of it, its a good car out of the BOX!

BTW - me talking about the P81

Quick question does anyone use CV's for the P81? plus what will suit?

or is it best to use the dog bones standard?

Looking forward in the build once the kit arrives - just gathering information before the build...

Cheers
Frankie

I have used the standard dogbones, or the optional ti dogbones, on both the P81 and P8.0R 08 with zero problems. I know some racers use cvd's, but I am not sure what brand. CVD's will change the handling of the car.

As for what spare parts to keep, I think it's pretty much the same as any other car- arms, belts, pulleys, gears, bumper, front body mount. If you plan to race often and over an extended period of time, it is cost effective to buy a second kit and use it for parts as you never know what you might break.

As for options, I highly recommend the ergal mid shaft mount. Other options I would suggest are optional shock springs, spur gears, ti pivot balls. If you want to lighten the car, the ti layshafts and dogbones will help. If you want to stiffen the car, the graphite battery tray and various graphite stiffeners are good tuning options.

We had our ROAR Regional championships this last weekend. We had 3 Motonica cars in the field. Qualifying was rough, with only 1 making the final directly. Steve Jackson won the B main and bumped to the A. In the A, Steve had a couple of flameouts dropping him back. I worked my way up to 2nd place and held that spot until my engine let go with less than 5 minutes left. I think we finished 7th and 8th. Our cars were very good, I will get my setup posted soon.

Hey Garen,

Any word on the graphite parts and rear sway bar kit being in stock? Also looking to buy some rear knuckles.

Email me when you can.

Also very good to see the report. Flameouts and engine issues can cause ANY BRAND car to have issues during races. Motonica, as was proven overseas, has been a very good contender to the likes of Serpent and Kyosho. I like the P81 very much... if I could get the rear knuckle parts...
