that chart is for the P81 not the P8.0R 08. The P81 has different internal gearing; it uses a 22T brake pulley, 51T rear pulley, and 25T front/side pulley, compared to 20T, 48T, and 26T. The stock pinion gears on the P81 are 15/19 compared to 16/20 we normally used on the P8.0R.

should there be slop in the 3 belt tensioner bearings when mounted?

Garen or anyone, what do you use to cover electronics (the clumpy gum stuff). do you silicone the seam of the receiver?

also, if someone has measurements for hole placement for Parma R11 please share

thanks

Are you talking about the middle belt tensioner? If yes, then the bearings should have a little bit of slop so they can spin freely.

I use a little bit of cleaning putty to cover the servo lead mounting tabs on the receiver. You can make a lexan cover from the remains of the body stiffeners that came with your R11 body. If you go back a page or 2 you will see some other receiver covers/boxes that people have used on their cars.

I'll check my R11 later and post the measurements.

Checked the chart again and noticed the difference in gearing, so how did you know which gears to use on the p8.0r without having a chart? Or is it more like trying the different gears on the track and see what the car does?

Got my cars ready for this weekends race and set them up with different gears so i can see the differences. Also mounted my transponder on the left side next to the middle belt so it is more protected.

R11: the front holes are just in front of and towards the outside of the front/front dimples. The center of the holes are appx 5mm forward of the front/front dimple, about 1mm or so towards the outside. the rear holes are just behind and towards the outside of the dimples, about 5~6mm behind and 1mm outside.

P8.0R 08 Gearing: Depends on the engine/pipe/track, but most of the time our starting point was 16/20 with 49/45.

76mm rear, 69mm front is a good starting point, especially if you are breaking in an engine. Ride height about 8.5mm rear, 7.5~8.0mm front, adjust acoording to track conditions.

Default Battery

A friend of mine just got the P81. What battery pack should he use with this car?

Where can we order this battery from (online)?

What should the minimum rating of this battery be?

Some pics of last weekends race.

Did try some other gears and tire diameters. Also used a couple of the same bodies with different mounting positions. I was surprised how different the car handled with just a body change. Switched to my p909 body which was stable on the flowing corners but lacked some rear grip on the sharp corners.
