I'll just wait for Arno to respond.

Speaking of which, did you get a Motonica P81 yet or are you getting the Velox V8 '09?

Are you going to race it at the Motonica Grand Prix? What engine are you going to run with the V8 '09?

Arno, isn't that Picco EVO3 an off-road engine? I never heard of that brand body. And why go with the Motonica Yellow clutch versus the GIO clutch?

Thumbs up

We had our first national this week in Rucphen, Breda.
The hometrack of John Ermen.
I had some practice on my hometrack, where i had to run in some engines, all Novarossi's, and on saturday the 4th of april i made my set-up for sunday.
The car, a P8.0R 2008, worked really fine and very smooth and consistant in laptimes.
So the first heat i good make a nice run without mistakes.
For the second heat i changed second gear from 46 to 45 and just when i wanted to start the heat my swith of my starterbox broke, so i messed up that one.
The third my gearbox shifted to late so i did not improve.
I ended up 13th, which was not bad, and i was within 7 seconds from 5th place so it was close.
But i knew i good go faster.
In the semi everything went well, everytime i could easily made the 5 min.
So the first two stops went without any problems and i was in 3th position cruising into the final, but than bad luck came around, i was empty..............?????
I still don't know what happened there.
So with 40 seconds to go my tank was empty, and so i missed the final which i could easily have made, but that's racing.

I also saw the new P81 from Robin D'Hondt, from Belgium.
I must admit, that it's a good copy from a Mugen, and when you see it around the track it has the same behaviour as a Mugen.
And yes he was fast, 13.1 sec, i did a 13.5 sec, but Daniel v/d Drift, also a Motonica driver and still using the P8.0R 2008 did a couple of 13.0 sec.
Fastest lap was from Rick V Mugen, 12.8 sec, really fast laptimes, and he also won the final.
All those guys run factory engines, while i'm privateer, so i was very happy with my laptimes.

I also did test the new Protoform 909 and it was very stable, but had a little less steering into high speed corners compared with the Zytec.
I will continue this body and see how it works out, it looks very promising.
Next race is the Dutch GP at my hometrack, MACH Heemstede, at the end of april.

Greetz Stefan.

Stefan, have you tried raising the rear end of the P909 body by a mm or two to give more steering? It may create some drag, but it should allow more steering and stability.

Also, concerning the P81 and a Mugen copy, does that mean setting up the car is just as easy as well?

I hope you post again soon Stefan! Definitely great report and post.
