Ok guys, for all you Motonica fans that aren't sure or already own one. This is for you......
This is my first official race with this car after only one weekend club race and practice. My car is box stock with no hop ups. No other parts from other manufacturers on the Motonica. You can tell in the vid that Im getting beat in the infield because of the high gear ratio but I tried to compensate by making the clutch very aggressive. You can hear that I start in 5th but lead at the very end. Im the bright orange car. Hope you all enjoy. Special thanks to my sponsors. For you Motonica fans subscribe to my youtube account for this years racing....Thanks all, Kurly

Art Carbonell placed 13th overall at the 2010 ROAR Nats with his P81. This is a very good result for both car and driver.

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum but have been reading this thread over and over again since I bought my Motonica P81 a 2 weeks ago. It is the normal P81 - not the pro kit. I bought it second hand - chassis and servos for $250, I don't think it was a bad price and the car is still excellent condition - it only did 2 qualifying heats in a race and then the front broke and that was the only racing the car did.

The only hop-ups on the car at the moment is the titanium balls. So here is my first question to you guys - If i have to spend money on hop-ups which once do I buy first?

Second question - the track where I'll be racing is very tight - Which spur/ pinion combinations can I look at for a tight track?

Regards

Welcome to the Motonica Forum, here is a lot of good information and hope you enjoy your ride.....

Check out my blog on things i have done to improve the Motonica: http://motonica.blogspot.com/

Start with a Standard setup that came with your kit, its pretty good there depends on your track,

Cheers
Frankie

Thanx Frankie,

3 quick questions

1. A pinion spur combination for a very tight track
2. Is that aluminum side pulleys I see on your car? where did you get it?
3. I see you got one of the 3 racing tire lathes - what do you think of it and did you order directly from 3 racing? We don't have a 3 racing distributor here in South Africa.

Good looking car !!!
