I think many drivers out there mix match parts on cars, some perform better than standard, but yeah thats just me!

The stock shocks are good, the clutch is ok. I use a GIO Racing clutch in my car. Bryon Nakahara found a good trick for the shocks. Remove about 0.1mm from the plastic spacers that go in between the o-rings, polish the shaft, and you are good to go.
And yes, it is not unheard of to mix and match parts. At a recent race, a Mugen team driver needed a 2 speed adapter as his 2 speed was working erratically. I gave him a Motonica adapter, and his car worked flawlessly the remainder of the weekend. My Motonica 2 speed works just fine as is.

All good guys - Just trying to provide plenty support for the P81 its what i do best

So how are we all over the other side of the world, i am located in Australia and its Sunny Warm and plenty of racing.. when are you all back into it?

There is a Massive New Zealand Nationals event - Australias Sponsored Driver Stephen & Peter Jovanovic will be racing and they do Australia very proud with there P81's.

We soon have our State Tittles coming up in the next 2 months and looking forward again competiting with the best in Australia.

This year ill be running the MAX .21 XLTQ - its the first expensive engine tuned i have bought and cant wait to test its lungs.

What engines do you all use and what works best for you on track with the P81?

Cheers
Frankie

Last season i had lots of problems with my clutch. The clutch weights came out so i didn't finish much races. rebuilded the clutches a couple of times but couldn't find the problem. (Checked gap, endplay, replaced parts.) Since i dont know how to solve this problem i am thinking of trying some other clutches. Is it possible to just change the whole clutch to a Serpent, Mugen or Kyosho and can i use the Motonica pinions on those clutch bells? I am still running the P8.0R if that makes a difference?

Hey,

Okay to answer your question i have been running Mugen MRX4 complete clutch and 2 speed on my Motonica, i find the clutch better quailty and cheaper in spare parts to buy.

Some would say why not buy a Mugen well i like the concept overall look of the Motonica and its the best looking car on the market

Also i use is Mugen Shocks & Springs aswell the rest of the car is Motonica....

I speak to a World Driver Robin D'Hondt and he has a mixed parts of differant make son his car - from time to time you will see Top drivers use other makes to get best performance.

So yes you can buy Mugen Clutch setup & 2 Speed its same same.... but serpent you will need to buy complete kit of the clutch / 2 speed setup.

While this thread has been a bit quiet i have painted up another NEW body BLITZ R09 20mm forward from centre of the front bumper.

So if i buy a Mugen clutch i can still use the motonica spurs? as i have a lot of them.

Robin is a really good driver, i have seen him drive at our national championship and he is fast.

your new body looks good, i like how you did the camo style.

no, just keep using the motonica's spurs. But motonica's pinion or endbell can use in mugen's clutch.

Default MOTONICA FOR SALE

I am selling my Motonica P81 1/8th scale on-road car and all of these spare parts (see attached photos). It was fully re-built before the Semi-final at the Australian titles at Moorebank in October, and as you can see, the body still has the no 1 on it as I qualified 5th (1st in the odd semi). I was leading that final until the heavens opened up and the race meeting was abandoned. I have not run the car since. There is a spare almost complete kit and tons of spare parts including a chassis, clutches, belts, clutch shoes, pinions, spurs, etc etc. The car is in awesome condition and has an adjustable sway bar and alloy center pulley bracket as extras. I will throw in the body but the radio-gear and transponder is not included.

Total cost to me was way over $2,000 AND THE CAR IS NOW LISTED ON EBAY WITH A STARTING BID OF $600! Here is the link to that site: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1-8th-scale-M...item2305bd6a07
GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING
Ric Bartolozzi
PS I can arrange a quote for shipping overseas too. Just PM me.
