I started breaking in my plus .12 3ct jim hott mod. I noticed the temp was hovering around 180 deg. i did richen it up a bit, but still ran around 180 deg. it is cause of the modification or it just runs hot period.. Other engines i have broken in didnt run as hot. any help is appreciated. thanks

you wanna break in nova's above 200 deg, 180 deg is not hot enough for break in, and that p/s design is diff from the other's they are not cnc the new one's are microcasted and can withstand alot more heat.. I would break in that engine at 200-210deg's that would be perfect..

Default Novarossi 12+3 break in

I have a fairly new 12+3 theat was modified by Maxy of Maxys fuel.
When I first started it, it did run on the warm side, even though I ran it rich.
I finally completed the break in at around 210 degrees.
The engine is a monster. I have not seen another 12 that will pull on it on the back straight. It just seems to run away from all the other 12 and 12 modified engines. Great engine!

It depends also on tuning. If you tune better than another guy (maybe he's rich or something) then obviously it's faster. I think that people put way too much emphasis on getting a high power engine. I do it too

Anyhow, I just thought I should mention something about that.
