while waiting for my painter to finish the spada body I picked up a parma
exp speed 8 body that somewhat fit after some major cutting.
this is a nice alternative for saving the stock body.

Default 1st day at the track...review

Today was a good day of testing.....I had a blast driving the car today. It was very stable in the sweepers, all the while on throttle. It hugs the corners.... The rear spring I tested were much better than the stock ones. I used Associated 18's with using the rubber from the center of a Mugen fuel tank Grommet...This combination allowed the rear to "roll" and it also reduced the "hopping" that stock spring gave. The other mod, realy paid off....the softer springs, and longer kingpins if the front realy made the biggest difference, in cornering and high speeds.....

The biggest downfall of the car...the tires...the spokes are too thin and that causes the tire to break down and come appart. the car helt together very well, it took some hard hits to the boards and it held up. At the end of the day, i ended up with a wheel that came appart but the car still finished with three tires.

To be open on this, I ran with the Kyosho inferno GT's.....the car ended up with TQ, but I pulled the car to another class because they were in a points battle.

Car was real good james. I still think there is more in it but you made it work better than it could have in stock form. You are on the right track. If you mess with what we spoke about today i think it will be dialed.

I think you are right, I could pick up a lot of speed and make some huge increases in cornering. It didn't push, but more corner speed would be nice. Also using the new front end will give the car a lot more travel and drop a lot of weight from the drivetrain. Something to work on before the 16th....a couple weeks....

pms answered.....I was also asked why I was getting rid of it.....

I am building another one that will have a .12 in it. I have to make the chassis longer by 4mm and the body is something that I can use from a 190mm car...

been away for a while but just read all the posts, and your testing looks good rcfoolz, I have tried some cut down 12th springs for the front before, but not the 2mm travel mod, the .12 spada sounds fun too, good luck with that!

CVD's and nice alloy bits are out from Atomic
