I had a 12+3 modified in one of my MTX4R cars, and it was by far the fastest 12 size engine I have ever seen. Still swear by the 12+3 modified. I bought the factory tuned 12+3C and then had it modified even more by Fusion Motorsports. That engine was an animal. Too bad you are just now needing an engine, as I sold 5 or 6 engine less than a month ago, and one of them was the modified 12+3
Is this the engine your talking about.

I have been running the .12 TZ in mine and it's a great motor. Just picked up an RB Touring 10 JR/pipe combo for $250.00. Gonna see how this motor produces but prob not till next season.

Basically, but I was using the 12+3 port tuned.<plus had it modified>
It is also just as important to use the correct pipe, header, clutch set-up
I was using the 2053 pipe<also called the baseball bat pipe due to the shape of the pipe>matching header, and an Orion clutch spring.
This combination worked Great for me. Extremley fast, and pulls hard all the way through the power band. Best 12 size engine I have ever had.

The TZ will be okay on small to med. tracks where you dont get to stretch the motor out so much, but if your on a bigger track and you have the bank, its Nova or B main

I use Powermaster 30% in all my cars.

Call Kamikaze Toys and Hobbies in Cerritos Ca. and speak to Sam.
He has the engines, pipes, headers, . He carries many different brands and will help you out.

I put a brand new Mugen 4mm chassis on my MTX the other day, just fitted the engine today, and found the clutch bell now won't come off without removing the engine again, Mugen do some strange things.

If the chassi is from Mugen we should not have to cut anything I would think. This is the first time I hear that you need to cut, unless your using some other clutch set that is not Mugen.

I like Byron fuel never had a problem with this fuel. I use it on my MBX6T with a .28 GRP and runs great and on my MRX4-X with also a GRP .21

Yes I like the O.S. tz, but like you said the engine is for small tracks club racing only.

This is normal I dremeled mine also. There nothing wrong with the chassis; you just can't take the clutchbell off with the engine installed because of the added thickness of the chassis. You have a choice of dremeling the chassis or removing the engine everytime you want to remove the clutchbell.

Pass you soon...

I have tried Byrons fuel also. Had no issues with it at all. I found that for me the Powermaster fuel seemed to run a little cooler, cleaner, but the run time was about the same with the Powemaster. Pretty much a toss up on the two.
I have also tried White Lighting, Mugen, and a couple other ones, but seemed to always go back to the Power Master. I have used this fuel for about 4 or 5 years now,and during tear down and rebuild, the piston, and internal parts were very clean. Just a matter of choice.

I've heard good things about Powermaster fuel. They also make all of Traxxas fuels. Just wish I could find some in my neck of the woods
