Thanks

Default Gearing

Hi I had that problem with the 53 tooth 2nd gear stripping off, I a musing the 52 now and what I did I meshed the second gear first tighten the engine and put the first gear in. So far no problems. What I want to ask I am using 59/52 and spare the stock gearing which is 17/23, I am trying my car on a track which has a very long straight and it is suffering a bit to pick up if I had to change the pinion gearing what shall I do it please?

Thanks

Going 52 has more top speed than 53.

Pick up ? You mean acceleration ? 17T and 59T combination are already more than enough to make a balistic acceleration. I guess you have to check : (1). the clutch setting. For examples, using lighter flywheel weights and harder centax spring. Kyosho black spring ( super hard ) is nice. or (2) your engine setting need re-tuning, maybe the fuel delivery to engine is too lean or too rich from low to mid rpm.

Ok time to put the car on a diet. I already have the Ti. top screw set. What else should I get and where do I get it? I like the Kawahara parts but I can't find them anywhere.

YBSLOW also makes nice quality parts for the MTx-4.......

You could get the Ti pillow balls, Ti hinge pins as well to take some weight out!

ok got a question for all you ninja engine owners out there. I bought my ninja second hand from a buddy. I only paid 100.00 bucks for the engine and ninja pipe and header. last year my buddy broke the rod in the engine, he bought a new rod for it and installed it but he never ran it after installing it and selling it to me. I took the engine apart to inspect it and I noticed the on the crankshaft The left crankshaft journal looks kind of messed up. Im not sure if its suppose to be this way or not? So I started the engine this morning and it idles great and seems to run fine. So my question is, is the crankshaft suppose to be that way or not? I cant find any pictures anywhere on line. Or could someone be nice enough to take a pic of your crankshaft so I can compare. Thanks

Thumbs up New Spur gears

Would just like to give an update on the new spur gears.
Last night we competed in a 2.4 hr endurance event on a carpark layout with a few bumps.
All set out with timber boards.
During the event some heavy knocks occurred and not a sign of a stripped gear.
So this was a good trial for the new spurs and they came threw the event unscathed.
Good on you Mugen for finally resolving this problem.
