besides the motor moving forward and back the motor actually moves side to side also. just make sure that your clutch bell is not too close to the two speed housing all you need is a little more than .8 clearance so that the clutch bell can move back and forth without rubbing the two speed housing.

I don't know where you can get it locally but Kamikaze seems to have a lot of nitro parts online....

I ran 18/24 59/52. Yeah I know what your going to say.....your split is too big. Sooooooo I went back to stock gearing (17/23 59/53) and stripped spur #5,6, and 7.

Did all that. I even let several other racers look at my mesh and they all said nothing is wrong. 5 laps is all I could make before the gear stripped. I'm not new to this gear mesh thing. I race 12th scale with 64 pitch gears and rarely did I strip a gear.

When i set my mesh I slide the motor forward enough so that when the clutch is fully engaged, the gears perfectly aligned. There's no over hang..

Have you try to use longer screws ? eg. 2mm or 4mm longer screws to hold rear bulkheads, upper brake / stabiliser plate, rear carbon fiber suspension plate, radio plate tower, and engine mount ?

tips : use toothpick to measure depth. I suggest to have some collections of 3x12mm and 3x10mm counter sunk and button head screws.

check also throttle EPA for maximum throttle point and maximum braking point. Set it and leave it there.

I did all of that. I've already solved the problem. Like I said it was the pressure plate rubbing the 2nd gear housing. I shaved the housing with the Dremel and BAM!!! no more stripped gear. I've ran about an hour on the same gear so far and it shows little to no wear.

glad you fixed it.

also check the 2nd gear housing not to touch the plastic brace ( plastic that connects rear bulkhead to upper graphite chassis. )

cheers.

What I meant was to make sure that your motor is adjusted to the point where the clutch bell is not touching the two speed housing when the clutch bell is fully extended out..... I didn't go through all the steps you mentioned except for using a shorter screw on one side of the motor mounts and just watched out for the clutch bell clearance relative to the two speed housing...
I've ran combos from 59-52, 59-53, 60-53, and 59-54 with out problems....

I beleive I ran my car in december bumping up from a 25 min b main, Ran the full 45 main on the same gears and qualified last month on the same gears except for first which I changed from 60 to 59 for ratio purposes.... ran the full 45 min main without problems.....
