Anyone else notice some of the mtx4 parts thinning out recently?, some of the aftermarket gear has faded away, genuine bits seem to have thinned in stock at some of the online sellers.

Other interesting bit though is a few of the big ticket items have dropped a little in price, I actually wonder what the pricing on the new 5 and it's parts will be like when it comes out, though considering we are looking this time next year, it's a long wait.

Considering the age of the current model, and wait till the next, I'm seriously thinking of cleaning mine up and selling it on, to run something a little newer and easier to work on for next year...

Not sure why, But I would look at 3racing; you might find some there.

Pass you soon...

I agree with Lil Bump, ran some aluminum pulleys and found that the E-clips eventually eats through the pulley. Thankfully it didn't fall apart during a race!

Aluminum pulleys don't have E-Clips.

Go stock. Unless your building a blinged-out shelf queen.

3.5 gal isnt that much if you dont tune like an idoit. Brand new? No, but not even close to being worn out either. Maybe a rod change later on, but if your going through motors that fast, your doing it wrong.

And I never had any issues with the stock pulleys on mine.

Same here, but 3.5 gallons is just getting into the "broke in" part of a motors life Especially considering 1 of the gallons was just for motor break in, no track time.

Near 3.8L for a breakin?, apart from just the cost of the fuel to do that, it seems excessive in general.

As for options parts on the Mugen, from what I have seen and been told, just about all the 3racing gear is a waste of time, and for the rest, well the MTX was always a good performer right out of the box, maybe if you prefur the blade rear bar etc, but I don't think it ever needed hopups to be fast or tough.

Been running my MTX-4 (not R) straight out the box since I got it a couple of years back. I have replaced worn-out/broken parts along the way but had no need to "bling" out the car. In fact, my bone-stock car can hang with many of the guys I race with that have cars that are "blinged out" with lightweight this, aluminum that, or titanium something else. The only thing I have started using recently is the Delrin (not sure if I spelled this correctly) 2-spd gears. Still a good car but Mugen will lose a few folks due to this long wait for the new car.
